i recently read a short article on spirit guides, and am wondering whether anyone in this community has any insight on the subject? i read that a person's spirit guide can manifest itself in dreams, and that these dreams usually occur in a natural setting (forests, beaches, mountains, etc). i have recently had a couple of dreams where i think i've seen my spirit guide, but i'm not really sure. at the time when the first dream came, i had been hearing the voice of a male speaking to me at the time right before you fall asleep, midway to the sleep "dimension." this occurred several nights consecutively. then one night, i dreamt that the male came to me. i knew it was him, because he told me that his was the voice i was hearing. he also said that many people hear his voice, but that everyone sees him differently... the dream was not scary at all. it was actually quite peaceful, calming. anyway, that's just background as to why i'm interested in knowing more...
I am in the long process of writing a book on spirit guides. Yes spirit guides can and do come through in dreams. It has been my experience that they usually manifest in dreams after you've been in contact with them for awhile but everyone is different. I would be surprised to hear if you hadn't had any contact with this male before the dreams. My spirit guide came to me in a dream that was so realistic it was uncanny. My spirit guide came to me in a dream telling me many things in one dream. She came and appeared to me in an everyday setting, what looked like a waiting room with tv's. A spirit guide can be in any environment, it doesn't have to be a 'natural' organic setting! Your spirit guide will help you out immensely if you can maintain contact eventhough they tend to come and go with intensity and messages. You have alot to learn from them and I think they come with the people that you know that have died including relatives and people that care about you. Next time you feel the presence of your guide I would suggest trying to manifest the visual presence and discover there face and body, put a visual presence to there voice. Eventhough they may not be human, putting a presence onto them may help you contact them on a more frequent basis other than in dreams. Whenever I want to see my guide I just think and imagine her in my presence, perhaps sitting in a chair, on the bed, sitting next to me in the truck, walking in the woods outside and from that imaginitive thought she sometimes through my thought manifests a message. In example, my guide works through colors much of the time, so I pay attention to her clothing or what she is doing. If a action or her clothing don't come easily into my imagination I know that she doesn't have a message so I move on with my imaginitive thoughts. Spirit guides manifest through your imagination, where creativity lies. The more you can imagine and be imaginitive and creative the more they will come to you. I really think you have connected with your spirit guide, if they are telling you that it is them and they have a peacefull demeanor then it probably is a spirit guide. Spirit guides are very loving and only want the best for you and your loved ones so send them your love! Pay attention to every detail, when he contacts you question everything, such as why does he sound this way? why is it a male? is he alone? what does he look like? why is he coming to me in sleep? They are messangers so let them tell you what they have to say.
what more would you like to know? Your guide does exactly as it sounds, to a degree guides you so no need to fret about knowledge, they will show you a path and way however its important to learn how to pay attention to there detailic messages. if you want to continue contact - stay AWAY FROM DRUGS (im having difficulty doing this and is why i've lost some of my contact recently but i know she is still there as ive seen her for the past 2 1/2 yrs almost daily.) - for the good of people shall your guide point forth the path -keep yourself healthy -do good unto others -enjoy every moment BTW maybe you could ask your guide his name??!
remember to have continual contact and meaning with your guide you must develop your relationship, perhaps how to develop your relationship is something you should be considering! I *never* developed my relationship with my guide doing things like seances, rituals or the like, by just doing good and following the path set forth by god for sober mindedness is what helped me develop my contact

I've had a few different spirit guides over the years, some come and go frequently while others have been around for longer periods of time, absent for awhile then again enter my life. For me, it seems to depend on how receptive and open I am to the messages being delivered. In one way or another all of the spirit guides that have been in my life have all been teachers. My experiences The key is learning to recognize and pay attention to clues that are given to you. Not all is revealed initially many lessons only reveal themselves over time. That is why I feel it so important to keep a dream journal. There is an interesting book by karen Berggren titled "Circle of Shaman" that may provide some useful insight. peace
i saw my guide again last night. he said nothing, just stood next to me as i looked up at the night sky...there was fireworks as well...the setting was a forest, as it was the first time i met my guide. the weird thing is, i know it was my guide, but i can't ever recollect his face...
you know whats funny? The other night as I was falling asleep my guide called my name which she has never done, ironic that you were having this done to you and then I had the same thing happen.
I believe they manifest themselves in whatever form YOU will relate to easiest. I've had a spirit guide that often appeared in different guises. In my opinion it may depend on the lessons being taught. That was my experience.

My spirit guide seem's to be a little black/dark skinned girl who say's her favorite color is red. Although thats all I really know about her... I only encountered her maybe twice though...but my mom said she's felt her presence before o.o;
a couple of nights ago i had this really vivid dream. i was in my own house, in my own room but there was this little boy, maybe 3 or 4, bowl cut blond hair, cute little thing. he was insistent on me playing with him. he had his toys in his hands and he would lead me to my sisters room across the hall, but everytime i tried to go with him i would end up back in my room. i really wanted to stay with him. i became aware that i was dreaming during my dream, and i thought maybe he was a spirit trying to communicate something with me, but as soon as i realized i was in a dream, i got that heavy feeling that comes when you lucid dream, and i couldn't move anymore. i ended up waking up.
there were these critters i met when i was young. when i was much older i had a dream in which they we're the same people only just sort of ordinary human in form. or that's how they look to anyone who didn't know them. well it did guide me. it told me it was time to move on, from where i was then, that i had certain things to do down here where i am now.
Could you explain to me how i would go about contacting my guide through lucid dreaming, ive been trying for a very long time, mixed results.
Yes it was just like how you described. I met Chango in a dream and he was as the mythology depicts. I never heard of him much until I researched further, and he explained to me an issue I was having and helped with it. It was in a forest, and he had a white horse and was wearing red loincloth type clothes/or sort of like a skirt. I often notice spirit guides I've seen in visions have golden spirals on their foreheads and arms. I think this is an ancient sign of mysticism. Try to pray to your spirit guides, or journal your experiences connecting to one or two spirit guides. I believe we all have guides and angels watching over us.
This is interesting, I've never had any experience with this. I am gathering that it is an experience that just comes to you, not to be pushed then? Do people meditate on this idea? I've read about it before but, like I said, I don't have full understanding as I have never seen mine.
I contacted my spirit guide through journey work first then my guide would come to me through dreams.
