In the process of cooking my first batch on the stove. I know it says not to let it boil everywhere you read but my question is are small bubbles ok?

Yeah that should be fine. Just make sure the heat is pretty low and give it plenty of time. A double boiler is helpful for controlling the heat.

Also my oil was fine while heating up(only slight bubbles) and i then added my weed in, but upon being poured in the oil began to boil around the weed. I immediately took it off the heat and lowered it. It boiled for about half a minute before stopping. Will this have seriously ruined my marijuana or not?

No i dont think you have anything to worry about. Next time you could just heat the oil up with the weed already in it. Adding fine powder to hot oil can make it react a bit violently. You may have lost a small ampunt of thc to excess heat, but you should still get a good end product as long as you leave it on the heat for long enough. You want the oil to be really dark once youre finished.
