I got the Implanon implant in my arm about two years ago. It is a small rod that is about one and a half inches that goes into your arm. The best part is, I haven't had a period in like 10 or 11 months! Aside from that I gained like 15 pounds in a year and I'm just now starting to work it off. My mood swings are unpredictable and everyone around me can vouch for that. As far as acne, I was breaking out all the time but now I have it under control. Being on Implanon for me is like constantly having PMS. My breast are sometimes tender and I have had cramps. Aside from this I would recommend Implanon. If you can handle the symptoms and control your weight you should be fine.

And one more thing about Implanon is that since my hormones are so high, I am always ready for sex! And it is always great.

Lol that is quite a rollercoaster! I got mine a few months ago and it gave me tender breasts as well, but I am not complaining as they got bigger too! I can't really say they gave me mood swings because my moods are a bit up and down naturally hehe. I did get spotty in the first few months but that got under control as well. I did not gain weight but I think that is because I stay on a diet, the saying that implanon makes you gain weight is a total myth, it only makes your appetite bigger but if you control that then you don't always gain weight.

Anyway yes, I totally recommend this! Especially for the young gals.

Also, it is so freaky when you can feel it through your skin, lol.

so it only increases apetite, it won't actually in itself cause weight gain?

This scares me! It seems so unnatural to go that long without a period. Pull out method for me and mine lol

there's nothing wrong with the pull out method as long as you know you and your partner know that you are both healthy (no STD's) and you are prepared if there is ever an accident (emergency contraceptives).
it sounds unnatural to go that long without a period, but there are studies that show it is not bad for your health if you don't get your period every month.

here Plan B costs $60. went that route a couple times. no side effects, but I have no idea how Plan B can effect a person's health in the long run. it probably wasn't the best idea.

yeah plan B really messes with your hormones. i've taken it before too, and it was crazyyy! i was pmsing really badly, very emotional, depressed, cramps it made my flow really heavy...it was scary. that only occured once though, i have taken it a couple of times as well. but yeah, plan B is just for emergencies, if you were to take it all the time, you might as well just go on the pill.
