So if you're into it you might light a candle for the folks in Harrisburg, Illinois. They got hit hard about 4:30 this morning. Six people were killed, 200 some injuried, 25 busines places and 200 homes damaged or destroyed, the hospital was damaged as well as the schools. Winds were up to 170 mile per hour, the storm was an S4 with a 5 being the worst. My son works in a nearby Hospital ER and they were catching the overflow of injuried people. One of those killed was a 22 year old nurse he worked with. Lots of other damage all over this end of the state though we were OK here. And this is just the start of the storm season....it's gonna be a long weird spring I fear.
Scary what mama nature can whip up...... My thoughts are with all of those who are in the path of this.
Its the begin of tornado season already now in the USA. Here in Germany we had more winter thunderstorms than usual, some places got up to 6 snow thunderstorms this year already but no reports of funnels or tornados.
wild. last year was the worst tornado season in the us on record. this year's startin' out pretty bad as well.
Best wishes to the folks in the mid west that were hit last night. Scary early for tornados this year, what with the winter that never was and the snow that never fell its going to be dry as well.
