they say by living in the present moment, you can achieve your greatest goals. this means doing the shit you need to do when you need to do it, being open to opportunities, and believing in yourself. reflecting on the past and worrying about the future are both imaginary. They are not this present moment. this present moment is as real as it gets. it's where we can find an abundance of resources and love to achieve our goals. Some people live in the present moment naturally, others, like myself. It's a practice. though it's a practice of joy.
I'm glad that you find it a practice of joy. Being mindful and aware of every single thing you do is so important. Have you read any of Thich Nhat Hanh's books?
i have not read no. i like reading new books though, can you inform me on this author and what book to be begin with?
Yup I think to be really true to yourself you need all three for balance. The past we learn from, the present we live and the future we hope for.
How can you live in the present if you are aware of it, when you can only be aware of it through your own experience (the past)?
