(reposted from another thread) found this post while searching for circumcision scar pics... and i figured this was as good a place to ask as any... i have the "normal" circumcision scar... and an additional one, located about a quarter of an inch further down and running down along the center of the shaft, to about the base of my penis... the reason i mention this is that i have been trans since as far back as i can remember... and i have found... other anomalies in other places on my body... and im beginning to think that i should have my karotype tested to see if i am xxy or not... have you ever seen / heard of anyone else with a inverted L shaped scar on the shaft of their penis? i know what a raphe is and looks like and this is no raphe... so what the hell is it?
Are you saying that you were born with ambiguous genitalia and gender was assigned shortly after birth?
I have not heard of the type of scar you're speaking of, but it does sound a bit suspect. You should definitely get yourself tested if you feel you need to in order to put your mind at rest. I found out a few years ago that I'd been born with ambiguous genitalia at birth, and I had no idea about it beforehand. Although when I did find out, looking back, there were certainly signs that should have told me something wasn't right. Suddenly things started making sense when I found out about it.
essentially? yes, the scarring i have does not resemble most circumcision scars and my fiance has been telling me since we met that its "odd" only recently got the courage enough to actually look at other people who may have similar scars, and it of course only made me more worried... hence why i am here asking others to give an opinion on it. mostly im just curious how else one might have the series of scarring i have (inverted L shaped scar near the base of the pen-***is, the large end running about 3 inches, with the short branch being about an inch. with more scarring near the tip (above the circumcision scar, which is in between the two sets of scars, where the phrenium connects)
Hey Chibicthulhu, Im not sure what your exactly talking about but it sounds like the same kind of scar I have.. I never really thought much of it and just let it be. I goes from the tip of my penis almost to the base near the shaft. I don't know if its the same thing but maybe you shouldn't be so worried.. I mean I've never had any complaints about it lol
I don't think you have to worry. I have a scar that runs down from the tip of my penis to the scrotum. I honestly don't know what it is. But I am not trans, only my sexual orientation is ambiguous, but I don't think any of this has to do with any of that. If you are worried, do get checked.
the discoloration is normal. If you're a Caucasian this should be a tan line running from the circumcision scar, to the top the scrotum. Penises that have not been circumcised will also have tan line. It only looks darker because the penis is soft., This is just bunched up skin that whitens when the penis gets erect. If you didnt have that your penis wouldnt get erect at all. The skin would be to tight.
