This is a disaster! One of the greatest sites is down... Is it anyone out there who have a backup/- or ripped the site, or is there any working mirror with latest updates? /with Peace, love & understanding eace:
It's like Steal this book written by Abbie Hoffman but for the 21st century. It had info and guides about anything from getting free food/clothes/transportation/money/education/dope etc. to survive the street with self defence, shoplifting, shelter and staying warm. Its users and editors include everything from pacifists, hippies, yuppies, squatters, hobo's, punks, anarchist & free minded liberals. Here's the link http://wiki.stealthiswiki.org But it's offline :/
I got an anonymous email saying this will lead to a mirror of the site... http://pastebin.com/HsvUXDnU You'll get more info on that page about accessing the mirror. It's up to you whether to try it... If you do let us know if it's the same thing.
Whoa dude... you're like my hero right now... thanks a lot! Love ya, may you find inner peace and love :hippy: The link works perfect!
I am (or was) one of the contributors to StealThisWiki. I won't discuss why the site was shut down, but there is someone who is working on putting a new version up. I managed to make a backup of the pages a few months ago and burn it onto CD. Is anyone interested in a copy?
This is probably going to be a strange blast from the past, but the latest version of Steal This WIki is back up and running. The site contains tons of advice on living freely, cheaply and environmentally friendly. Plus advice on community organizing and direct action. I used to contribute protest site guides to the wiki in 2010, like how to build a bunch of tree houses connected by walkways, which I think gave me the confidence to go out and do that stuff and find a little glimpse of freedom. If there's anyone still kicking around that used to contribute or visit the wiki it'd be nice to catch up on what people have been up to, what people felt the lay of the internet was like that led them to contribute to the project back in the day and people’s feelings now about the internet and the world. Also, if you'd like to add a story to the website visitors guestbook, that'd be great too. But yeah, come one, come all. And happy to be here to chat with people.
I know this is a super longshot, but if you still have any contact information for old editors of the wiki, I'd love to chat to them, or if you could potentially pass my email along to them that would be great too: theosladehome at gmail dot com
