I always go barefoot to my local video shop and there is a girl who works there who is friendly and always has a nice smile. How can I make conversation with her about the fact that I am barefooted? I was thinking of looking at the sole of my foot and saying "Wow my feet are so dirty today from going barefoot" or saying "The carpet feels so nice under my bare feet." Does anyone have any other or better things I could say?
I'm not sure why you want to draw attention to your bare feet? If you frequent the establishment and they don't seem to mind why do the extra stuff? Instead of drawing attention to yourself how about having conversation about your interest in her. You know something subtle like asking her opinion on certain videos.
Enter your local video shop walking on your hands with your feet in the air, with a face painted on each foot. She may think a two-headed monster is entering the shop. If she still doesn't mention your bare feet, try opening the cash register with one foot. That will help.
The carpet line you gave there is a good opener... best not to refer to dirt as your intial or chosen pick-up line... she might think it's gross... In case she confesses to loving the feeling of bare Earth and grass beneath her soles as well, you might then want to show her your soles... there's good chance then, that she's impressed and likes the natural Earth-colored state of your feet. In general, it's best to point out the positive and pleasant sides of barefooting to start a conversation. And she might notice it, if you're well within her sight, browsing shelves, looking at movies (even if they dont interest you), etc. Then, it might be her starting the dialogue... Why do you need to bring up your bare feet with her? She is hopefully capable of making observations about that sort of thing... I'm not saying don't, I'm just wondering why it needs mentioning. Maybe you could start a normal conversation with her such as complimenting her on her smile or asking how her day is... if she's curious about your feet, she may take any conversation offered as an opening to ask about them.
