This probably isn't as interesting as you thought it was going to be, but I'll continue, anyway. When I was about 6, I went to look at a house with my parents. I went into a room (it's now my room, actually) and looked under the bed for some reason. I was completely shocked when I saw this cat under the bed. I knew the couple had a cat, but it looked completely different and was in the other room. Also, the couple was older, so it couldn't be a stuffed animal, and they both denied there being one under there, anyhow. I just remember is looked kind of like a young serval cat. I got the feeling it wasn't a domestic cat. It was also staring straight at me, unmoving. I stared for a few seconds and then got up, frightened. No one would look under the bed to confirm it and I was too scared to look back again. I don't imagine there's many psychics that visit this forum, but if they are, could you possibly help identify what you think it was? Also, if anyone else might have any ideas? I remember it rather clearly and it has been bugging me ever since. I'd like to get it off my mind.
I had a dream almost exactly like that, only it was a fox. Nothing happened, it just stared back at me, and no one would believe me. Tan, white face, pointy ears, pointy face, and crouched down like a sphinx. Scared me senseless. I just covered my face and hoped it would go away.
I really wish I could remember the way the cat was laying because that was originally something I put a lot of attention into, too. I think it was something like, front paws tucked under and belly and legs to the side. But I get you about the no one believing you thing. It made me so upset that no one would even look.
I remember mine as actually happening, but it was outside in a dark heavily shaded area between two buildings, and I was on my stomach and was confronted by the fox. It definitely had evil intent. The passage was very narrow, and quite dark. But is was clearly a dream. In actuality, the passage was quite wide and sunny, and there was no need to crawl through there. It was a weird one. Crap, nightmares tonight...
Jinn often take on forms such as this and show themselves to certain people. They are Spirit Beings and part of the triangle linking with humans and angels. Even if someone else had looked they most likely may not have seen what you did. We as humans label and judge evil and good when we do not understand something. Our fears create stories that sometimes have little to do with the truth, or the intent displayed in front of us. To me, I see one as favored and special to be so blessed with the gift of seeing beyond the walls and realities we manifest around us as humans.

I think the main problem is that no body would validate what you saw. It makes a person or even child feel strange to have their feelings ignored or ridiculed. Maybe though you are getting obsessed with feeling fear and this fear has a memory that you can get in touch with easier. So you might want to change the subject with your own thoughts to something else just so you can learn to let it go and not let it cause you more harm. For your sake I wish someone had gone a looked under the bed with you to confirm what you saw. Maybe you could bring it up to your parents and they could some how help you with the memory since they were there with you if you trust what they call reality. I think you will need to come to terms with it in your own mind. If you think what you saw was real just validate it with yourself. If you ever have a child I encourage you to remember this so if your child is afraid you will do something to try and help them.
Well, fear isn't what's keeping it in my mind, it's just curiosity as to what it was. I just think it's really interesting, now. But, I've tried to talk to my parents about it over the years, and unfortunately, they don't remember what happened the previous day let alone 13 years ago. I guess I should try letting it go, but I think it's one of those things I'll always remember since it was unique.
The two ideas that come to mind , other than the shape shifting Jinn , from the other forum member , are , 1 a wild cat that found its way under that bed that left when it saw people . 2 The ghost of a cat , cats , dogs and other critters do some times hang around as a ghost . desert rat
A third idea that came to mind after making that post . It could of been the astral body of the other cat . Something similar happened to me several times when I was younger. Few times I saw my cat sitting on the armchair or somewhere in the corner, but after few seconds I realised that he was in different room. Other time I saw 2 cats sitting behind armchair. ( I had only one ) After that cat died, it also happened few times for me to see it sit somewhere and look at me. Never really told about it to anyone, as it might be just foreknowledge, plus I didn't wanted to be considered as mentally ill
I would say Flying fly s cat was a ghost cat as well . Some are old pets that hang around . desert rat
