A meta analysis of studies by researchers has found that a single dose of LSD can have a ''significant beneficial effect on alcohol abuse''. Link to the full study: http://jop.sagepub.com/content/early/2012/03/08/0269881112439253.full.pdf+html Link to BBC article on the subject: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-17297714 Seems to me this is just one more reason for the easing of restrictions on this and other substances to allow proper research to be carried out!
Sure helped me. I was pretty much dangerous and did stupid shit due to unresolved emotional issues when I drank. First hit of windowpane in '68 over in Hawaii caused me to quit for 20 some years and induced me to engage in some critical thinking thereafter.
LSD helped a buddy of mine get off alcohol and methamphetamine. Not in a one time cure-all type of way, but over a period of time. He completely avoids both poisons now.

I will have to start drinking again just to help with such important research of course!! To the Liquor store!!!!!!!!!! :cheers2:
Amen to that! I figure I can be an alcoholic for a month or two, then take a nice trip and not drink for awhile. Then start all over again! ....aaahhhh the possibilities
I dont doubt LSD has the power to help people make important and positive changes in their lives. My alcoholic roommate just recently tripped and let me tell you she still pops open a Heineken first thing in the morning, every morning. She is an 'exotice dancer' here in Miami though and honestly in that field of work you need something to keep you going and in an almost 'alter ego' mindset.
I think you might be on to something there...:smoking: Boozers control my state without a doubt. They won't even pass tougher DUI laws because most of our legislators are likely multiple offenders!
high horse? man, now that would be a very precarious position for a drinking alcoholic ta get inta. its a long fall off a horses back ha! ha! :smilielol5::smilielol5::smilielol5:
One of the funniest things I've ever seen in my life was when this Native American guy and his teenage son came riding into the convenience store parking lot on their horses. The son went into the store and the dad waited outside on his horse. I was pumping gas, admiring his long black hair, when I noticed that he slowly began to lean in the saddle. He fell off his horse, like in slow motion, and made a terrible noise when he hit the pavement. He was stone drunk...
Yeah, so then he gets up, pats his horse on the neck and climbs back on like nothing happened. It was a good horse. It didn't flinch. It was kind of like the horse was used to that happening. LOL
Apparently...I see him riding on the sides of the road all the time. I think he figured out how to avoid getting a DUI.
he was one tough cookie ta survive it. who picked him up off the pavement ? or was he able ta get back up on his own again ?
haha, nice story aeri....I saw some guy do that from the cab of a big truck once too. Also in slow motion...and spectacularly not spilling his drink in the process! Amazing how drunk people dont seem to injure themselves in those situations....
