yup I do that. never going back :)

    Any good recipes?

    I have one

Zuchini, take the seed part out. Then put in a bowl with salt rubbed over it and sweat it to make it more palatable.

Make a nut pate - Olive oil, soy sauce, garlic, cilantro blend and fill the zuchini with it. Eat with a side of salada!

I made it for about 4 days. I'm going to try to incorporate more raw, vegan foods into my diet but I found it so expensive, time-consuming and restrictive. There was a time when veganism and even vegetarianism required that much work to do properly and I know people managed. I might give it another go when the time is right.

My girlfriend and I try to eat raw as much as possible. However we find it can get expensive to only eat raw.

Been a vegetarian for 12 years, vegan on & off, & the last two months (ever since I saw "Earthlings") I've been vegan. It's sticking this time (never did it for ethical reasons before, for some crazy reason). Also have done raw food off & on before, but I want that to stick too. The thing is, I'm on food stamps, I have a 4 & a half-year-old to feed (very, very picky eater), and I live in a very unenlightened place when it comes to vegetarians/vegans. We do, however, volunteer at an awesome community garden a few minutes away. But it's still been tricky to do raw. Cooked & processed foods are so addicting. Plus, it's an expensive lifestyle . . . not necessarily buying the food, either. It's buying all the accessories: juicer, blender, food processor, dehydrator, etc. . . which keep a person inspired to remain raw because of food prep variety. I'm a poor single mother. Anyone have ideas about this? I don't mean to hijack the thread; tried to keep it somewhat on topic.

I had my first full week at 95% raw last week. The past two days have been eating at other people houses so I had very little raw food. Going back to it permanently tomorrow.

    I love raw food,
it's hard in the winter though, cuz I have very poor circulation, and I just want hot food...plus, I love baking so much.
I try to eat at least 40% raw though, and that'll be increasing this summer, hoping to be at least 75%.

it's tough when you live with your parents though. My mom says she'd put me in pshyciatry if I go raw, yet oddly enough she wants us to do a juice fast together for 10 days... :p

My favorite meal in the world, and super simple!:
    3 carrots, grated
    juice from 1/2 lemon
    1 apple, chopped
    raisins
    pink himalayan salt, to taste

    Just throw everything together :)

Ohh! And this wonderful raw cheese recipe I found--
    http://natureinsider.com/2010/12/hot-to-make-raw-cheese/
    it was even Polish-meat-loving-non-veg*n-enthusiast approved!

Seems to me that vegan with a higher percentage of raw might fit your bill.
I found a dehydrator on Craig's list years ago. Missing a tray, so it needed babysitting in use, but it worked better than an electric oven on low overnight. Seemed like the power bill was lighter too.

Sprouting filled many gaps for me as a young mom.
I should get back to it.

I also keep a pot of greens growing on my balcony when I have one and sunny window sills when I don't.

Bought nuts and beans in bulk and soaked them. Still do, and I soak rice before cooking. I did all that to save $$ by running appliances less.

On and off raw vegan here. Going on a good raw streak.

Nothing but fruits and leafy greens, whole, unprocessed unless occasionally blended or smashed.

In my opinion, using recipes and kitchen gadgets when going raw is a quick way to get exhausted and frustrated with the lifestyle. Not to mention juicers and dehydrators turn healthy whole food, in to a much less healthy product to consume, especially on a daily basis.

Yeah...I've been doing the raw thing on and off for about 7 years... there are so many ways to do it and usually the first way people get into it is the junkfood or gourmet way...not sustainable...just like people who stop eating meat get into veg with all the junk soy products...

It's much easier, and cheaper to keep to whole fruits & veg like willy wonka...all I need to stay raw is a blender and a veggie peeler...or not... a knife and some forks/spoons can also work...don't overcomplicate it, that's just the marketing schemes to think you need all kinds of products.

Here's a question...how did you all get into raw and who are you following, who are your inspirations...cause there's a lot of genuine knowledgeable raw food educators out there but there's also a hell of a lot of scammers.

I totally agree the gourmet raw super high fat diet is no good for anyone and should be completely avoided.

I personally got into raw from Dr. Doug Graham and the 80/10/10 lifestyle.
My insperations include Harley and Freelee(Durianriders), Mike arnstein(The Frutarian), Chris Randel(Real Raw Results),
Megan Elezibeth, and Many many more.

I would strongly encourage anyone wanting to get into raw read "The 80/10/10 Diet" by Dr. Douglas Graham, and then search online for a great high carb, low fat, raw vegan community for help and support.

Lucky you Willy Wonka...everyone should get into it that way..unluckily for me I climbed through the back door at the crappy end of the raw spectrum and found my way to 811rv...and now I'm going to have to ask you what's your name on 30bad? ;)
