I bought a .22LR rimfire, "Plinking" GSG-5 SD, faux suppressor, Semi-automatic but looks and almost feels like the real MP5-SD, theres pictures below. I like it, and would like some constructive criticism on the rifle, and maybe information on other LEGAL nearly assault rifles in California. By reputable dealers, even if it costs more than purchasing it from an actual individual. I recieve my rifle on the 21st of this month (10 day holding period) And please don't bash on the rifle as it is a very small bullet.. Anyways breaking it down, I'm looking for cheap accessories like Green Lasers, bore laser sights, slings, other "family-friendly" .22LR Rimfire weapons, actual store locations with possibly bigger bullet sizes for personal fun, sights whether hologrpahic, red dot or magnified up to 10x max, remember its a .22 If you know of weapons I am only looking for Cali LEGAL. Semi-Auto, I don't care about those converted LEGAL Full-auto, I'll stick to safe than sorry 10 round semi thanks! Ok moving on here is my long version: Ok, so I searched and couldn't find any weapon threads on the site, and specifically couldn't find any about weapons in California. So if you have any California LEGAL weapons please do show and tell. Any advice on where to get really good weapons for a good price in Southern California Los Angeles area, though I live at the northern tip, and if anyone knows that really good gun shop in Fresno area, and can tell me about it would be great. I travel to almost ALL parts of California, so anywhere in Cali is accepted, the closer to Northern Los Angeles County, Lower/Southern Kern County the better. Anyways I purchased a pretty cool 'toy', you can call it a cheap, a fake, plastic gun, but I call it fun. I can easily get 500+ generic rounds for 20$ or so, so far better than buying full sized AR-15/9mm/AK rounds. It's a GSG-5 SD "MP5 SD look alike." .22 Caliber, some call it a plinker if that makes you know what I"m talking about. --Where can I get good accessories, extra mags, maybe more bullets for cheaper? like 1k rounds for <=40$ or 5k <175$, if there is a place to get good optics for it (ideally under $150), nothing serious as it's only a .22lr firearm. On Cheaperthandirt I found 100 .22lr Sub-Sonic rounds for $6.15 so that's 30.75 at 500 rounds, and another brand of Sub-Sonic rounds 500 for $38.59, if you have a reason why I should be the $7.50 more expensive brand please share the information it'd be greatly appreciated, and also what bullets are better for this rifle. Links for the bullets posted below. And any suggestions in other types of ammunition is greatly appreciated, especially if I get a nice optic and want a bullet with a little more reliable accuracy, maybe be able to pick off a target at 85 possibly 1oo yards. (I live in a very windy area so most likely shooting for the moon "dreaming" but I like to push every weapon to its and my limits) I'm interested in the subsonics since the faux suppressor would seem cooler with quieter than normal rounds! Though I'll take suggestions on more reliable, cheaper, louder, more accurate rounds too. Also I'm thinking about getting the HK M4 looking .22lr, which I can really get some cool accessories on. I'm looking at paying around $1k after all is paid including BG check and accessories. I've got a green laser at Big-5 for around $119.99, maybe getting a holographic site from Amazon about $44-50, Xenon flashlight if possible. And/or a good 4x optic. So I'm not really trying to invest more than $1k into an Ar-15/M4 looking toy. If you have any information on where to pick this stuff up at. So, if you know of better prices (whcih I know are out there that'd help out) I'm looking for the lowest high end, or high end mid range items for these 'toys'. I would like a reliable AR stlyed with full tactical track rail/heatguard to add items easily, so please guide me through this, as I"m new to these plinkers! Also if you know a LEGAL gun shop, where I can pick up a semi-auto, full sized bore, 10 round AR-15 or M4 for under $1k (pre-tax) that'd be great, no personal listings sorry. But only if I can find ammo for decent prices, as I'd spend maybe $200 on rounds at a time, as I won't have too much time to actually fire, thus why I bought the 'toy' gun. And if you know of a high end full sized bullet firing rifle, I'd get top notch accesories. So bear with me, on my choices due to the weapons they'll be fitting. Ok so here's my 'toy' .22lr GSG-5 SD, with Faux Suppressor but with Sub-Sonic rounds sounds suppressed. 10 round magazine, can't do much about that in california.. I'm keeping it legal, so only legit options thanks. Oh yeah, because it was quickly photoshopped to look cool, the tactical rail/tack ontop beween the iron sights is missing only in the photo, but really is there on my rifle, so I can attach anything there. -==.22LR Rounds/quick info + links==- # rounds, brand and price +info --50 Winchester Super-X Subsonic for $3.12 (x10 = 500 rounds/$31.20) Truncated Cone Lead Hollow Point 40 Grain 1065 fps Manufacturer: Winchester X22LRSUBA Item: 2-WNX22LRSUBA UPC: 020892102095 http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/2WNX22LRSUBA-1.html -- 100 CCI Subsonics for $6.15 (x5 = 500 rounds/$30.75) •Special 40 grain lead hollow point at 1050 ft/sec. •Trajectory matches most target loads to 50 yards. •Large HP cavity for reliable expansion at sub-sonic velocity without fragmentation. •Quieter than high speed 22 LR hollow point loads. Nothing serious as it's for me, and my family to just have some fun plinking 10 rounds at a time, from my little brother to my mother, so accuracy is a second to reliability for the situation. Thanks for your consideration and knowledge put forth =]
sounds like you have buyers regret. you spend half of the post defending your purchase despite nobody saying anything negative about it
Oh no I love my weapon, I've played with a friends and spent nearly $80 on ammo in a weekend which is a LOT of bullets with only 1 misfire. Just everyone here calls it weak, and I'd rather defend it upfront to naysayers now, then later. Since if you seen my post on a weapons dedicated forum, they really hate the guns, calling them airsoft guns, which I consider it a 'toy' gun, but wouldn't call it that as it is still dangerous. But if you own one, you'd see why it is so defended haha it's amazing, I love it, and that's why I bought it. I've owned many weapons of varying sizes, and shot many others (I.E. thompson .45 cal) very awesome and fun, but very expensive and illegal since full auto, rented it in Oregon. This gun (.22) and the AR/M4 styled .22LR I plan on purchasing next is still fun and more enjoyable to my uses, as my mother can't stand loud guns, and these bring my family closer together even though we don't have the best of terms with each other. (my mother is the only one we all can relate to, so this gun is theraputic in more than just squeezing the trigger ) I also own a normal .22LR rifle and enjoy that, so this is just like a cooler version. but I'd like information on how and where to get some accesories for the weapons. Also, if I can find an AK .22LR would be awesome, or a Cali legal AK would be fine too. =] Anyways do you have any suggestions on rifles, pistols or anything contributing to this thread? if not, you're free to say anything you'd like haha, though you should at least pretend to have interest and throw any name out there, so mods don't get mad :afro: Oh PS, if you know which ammo is best price wise in bulk of up to 150$, since if I spend 200-500$ I'll have too many bullets to shoot, unless I can find more mags and more .22s as I only have 2 and my very own GSG5-SD coming soon. =]
I have to say, I don't understand the whole obsession with huge bullets.... Yeah, they're big, but I think an MP5 design (well made/designed and handleable) should be great for fun, and plenty for self/home defense.... I mean, as long as the mexican mafia isn't besieging your home, how damn big does the bullet need to be? Most people will NOT be fighting after being shot with a 22, and it can easily kill if you need it to. And it's much more controlable. AND the whole fear of automatic weapons is silly, this is not a video game, and 9 times out of 10 a semi is much MORE deadly, because you can actually hit things. So...... Stop defending it like a bitch, sounds like a fine gun, although one jam already doesn't sound quite up to snuff in manufacturing quality..... An HK wouldn't jam.... Also, fake suppressor is laaaaame, pay the tax for a real one or don't get one, methinks.
reminds me when the Tec22 come out. What a shitty killing toy this is.. disposable plastic and metal.. 30round clips.. New: it has a smooth action to automatic fire. :woot: misfires very little. After heavy use, this gun is JUNK! $120.00 when it come out.
good buy! your not going to war just yet so the 22 is great, the fun is the same, but you can afford to shoot this one all day if you wish, idk howmuch mp5 bullets would be but i,m sure there more. have fun!
