Learn From My Mistake

Alright it happened about a year ago. Me and my buddies were disc golfing at a local park that is pretty chill. We know of a place in the woods thats like a pit that is perfect for smoking. So we smoke up and start walking into town to a gas station and start looking snacks and drinks. Well me and my buddy were messing around and I took a candy bar and starting eating it. I was just planning on walking up to the register and jokingly hand her a half eaten candy bar. Ha ha ha. Instead the manager came over and starting lecturing me how that is stealing and I need to grow up and I said yessir in kind of a cocky voice. So he ended up calling the cops who came and searched me and found a bag in my backpack. So I had to sit in the local jail for 5 hours until my parents came and got me out. Got a $114 shoplifting ticket and a $216 possesion ticket also.

Bottom line: Don't be stupid in public while having bag on you.

 

id go back and punch the manager in the face for bein a dick

But yeah, i would have just left while the manager was calling the cops...

 

Yeah, although they did have cameras in and around the gas station. What could they have done though, even if they did get video of me? Post wanted posters around town? Haha.

 

why didn't you just tell the manager you were going to pay for it then pay for it?

to summarize:

i was stoned and started eating the chocolate bar before i paid for it.

i was confronted about it, and acted like an asshole.

i was punished as a direct result of being a dick to the manager.

 

pro tip:
pay before you eat your quickie mart purchase

 

you didnt say who won the disc golfing?or what happened to your friends....or mention the race of the store manager..or strain of weed ....come on guy...learn how to tell a good story

 

so... have you plead guilty? paid fines?

legally people need to realize their rights. You shoulda told em youd pay for it on the spot, saiod no im not stealing just couldnt wait im starving.
Is the cop going to tell you otherwise if you agree topay? no.

What's wrong with disc golf? And yes, I know this is on me, haha who else would it be on. I made a dumb mistake, which I think I made clear with the title.

 

It's not entirely a stupid mistake though, i probably would have done the same. Think about it, firstly you're high... so clearly he's not going to be thinking fully, especially when he hears the cops are coming, as he's high, with weed in his bag... at that point i'd be a little freaked out, and probably wouldn't have been able to think of all these great excuses to get out of it, until afterwards of course

 

At least you just got a ticket. No probation?

 

Oh yeah no probation or nothing just the tickets. I was 17 at the time so the officer said it was a juvenile arrest and it wouldn't go on my record. Does anyone know if this is true or not? I've been told that that's bull and everything stays on your record.

 

Right. I wanta know. Was he Chi-nee? Was it OG?

next time you're doin somethin like this . . . u got few options:

- pay for that shit
- just leave when he goes "I'm callin the cops"
- punch him in the face and run ( i wouldnt recommend that)

 

That's not illegal where I live. You can eat stuff then pay for it when you leave. I would have argued.
