Is living in an apartment instead of a house settling for less? Is working as an intern instead of working not as one settling for less? Is having one wife instead of a lot of girlfriends settling for less?
Settling for less is an attitude... a symptom of the cultural disease that has its victims see their worth solely in material terms.
Not necessarily. It could be looked on as deciding on a "more" - Everyone of those can be stated as "more" something. It is all attitude.
Well, lets see Is living in an apartment instead of a house settling for less? Yes, owning a house is much more hassle Is working as an intern instead of working not as one settling for less? Yes, working a full blown job is much more hassle Is having one wife instead of a lot of girlfriends settling for less? Yes, having lots of girlfriends is much more hassle So, when does less equal more?
Tysons got a good point but iam still with my one.....To stop fighting iam gonna say we all have good points LOL
1) no it's fun! (if you live w/ friends). You can only truly afford to buy a house once so... 2) Fuck no. I would love to intern. I don't see the problem if you're young. 3) You will learn, you actually don't want a bunch of girlfriends. Sounds like a headache. One great woman is far far better. :daisy:
If life is about what you have rather than what you are, you're settling for less and no material possessions can fix it.
1) it's pretty much just settling for something different. a house is better for some people, and an apartment is better for others. if you have the one that's not right for you, and you've given up on trying to get the other, then yes i suppose you would be settling for less. 2) if you've decided to intern for life, then i would say so. volunteering to help a company instead of helping one for money is probably settling for less. but then that's not really how it works. an internship is almost always a temporary job for college credit, which is designed to serve as a stepping stone toward a much better job. so in that way, getting a shitty food service job or something similar that is actually available to the typical person would probably be settling for less than interning and working toward a job that doesn't entirely suck the life out of you. 3) no, it's settling for fewer. like number 1, it really just depends on the person.
