I've been interested in Ubuntu OS for several years now but only recently acquired an old laptop to play with on which I've installed the latest version of Ubuntu 11.10. I also have it installed on my desktop inside Windows 7. I like it for a number of reasons not the least of which it's simpler to maintain not requiring the usual anti virus and cleaning tools. Anyhow, want to explore Ubuntu it can be downloaded and installed inside Windows and requires a minimum of 18 GB, far less than Windows 7. http://www.ubuntu.com/ubuntu I'm not an expert nor am I what one would call a techie, just a user who likes to explore new things just for the experience. That being said I've accumulated quite a bit of knowledge about how to install this OS on both desk and laptops and can answer questions about such niceties as hooking up your wireless connection. Regarding browsers, Ubuntu comes with Firefox as it's default browser but many others are available the best of which are Google's Chrome and Opera, both of which are easy to install and work as well if not better than their Windows versions.
