I don't chew gum but my mom does. Recently my mom has been chewing gum a lot and blowing bubbles... my daughter will scrunch up her nose and start mumbling and pointing under her breath. She looks at mom puzzled and disturbed...like "what the fuck is up with your mouth"... she kept running to me in the other room and coming up to me to moan and nurse...that's how she complains, she moans. Then my mom came in the room with me and sat on the couch next to me blowing bubbles. We started to notice that she'd get really focused on my mom when she did it then she'd hide her head in the pillow and complain, the pitch of her voice getting higher. It happened several times and then she started crying and I was telling her "it's okay" and we realized she is really freaked out by the bubbles. I thought she'd get used to it but it might take more than me saying "it's okay". I personally think it's super cute, cause really it's kinda weird, chewing gum and bubbles. She's never seen or noticed it before so she's like 'wtf'. My mom calls her chicken little now. I absolutely need to make a video of her reaction to this. I really should ask my mom to stop scaring her though.
You're not a parent or uncle are you GLENGLEN? She'll grow out of it, lots of kids find new things weird, especially if they can't link it up in their heads to something they've seen before. Like my niece loves big dogs but is afraid of little yapping things, I suppose because the only thing like them are rats. But the older she gets the more she's coming around to being fine around them.
Yeah this same little girl absolutely loves dogs...the bigger the better, she has no fear of them at all, or most anything. Usually she's a bit of a daredevil compared to how my other daughter was. This is the first thing I've ever seen her afraid of.
