I love being nude. I'm mostly nude at home. I'm having strong thoughts about be outside, like camps or even go that French town - Cap ? I was evening thinking about going to California where one resort has some rooms that is seperated from others. These are meant for privacy or first timers. I guess I want to be around other people that think nudity is not a big evil in life and they are comforable with it. Maybe going to some parties that clothing is optional or meeting with new friends will help? Want do you think?
Nudity is about being comfortable with yourself, not about being comfortable with what other people think of you. If you really want to go out and do things nude, then go out and do it. Nothing wrong with being naked, or having the urge to be naked, and if I were you I'd just go somewhere that you have an interest in that is also clothing optional. The people there will be surely expecting nudists, they'll be expecting you to be nude, and as long as you don't show any kind of fear/embarrassment, they'll never know. Get out, get naked, and be proud.
Those strong thoughts of going nude when camping, bushwalking, swimming ... whatever else you can think of, will very soon become reality. Those first steps of mustering up the firepower to open the door and step out in your birthday suit are often the most difficult to set in motion, but it will happen and then you'll be looking back in following years and giggle! Friends who are comfortable as nudists should be able to help 'induct' you into the lifestyle (if that is what you want to make of it) and settle you in — invite some around. Parties sound a great idea. I can't think of why California has rooms "for privacy" separated from others and purports to be a nudist resort. Methinks something else goes on in those "private rooms" or they would have adopted an inclusive, nothing hidden place. Beware, beware.
I seriously doubt going to (and these are two different things) nudist parties or sex parties is going to help you feel more comfortable with yourself. Whether there are other people around doesn't matter, because it isn't about being seen
Yes and it feels good believe me!! Its UN-NATURAL to wear clothes,it feels MUCH BETTER being naked (Nature)
There are many naturists who started with a lot of doubts. All that I can do is to say how I felt when I started and before I started. As a Textile the prospect of being naked in front of others was really off putting though there also a wish to be naked on a beach pulling in the other direction. I have never been into social nudism so joining a club or going to resort really doesn't appeal. One day on holiday we came across a scruffy sign "Nude Beach". Well it was a lovely beach and almost deserted. So we thought "Who not" and nervously stripped. The sensation of liberation felt unexpectedly genuinely good. At first when people walked by we lay face down then pretty soon realising that no one cared simply stayed as we were. We spent the best part of a day sunbathing and swimming costume free feeling utterly relaxed and stress free. Now we seek out CO beaches, always go nude when we can and have long since ceased worrying about being seen by others textile or nude themselves. In fact when we share space with textiles the thought that goes through my head is "If only you'd try it you'd love it too, because nude really does feel so much nicer".
I'm so glad I found this thread. Next week I'm going to a naked yoga class and I'm looking for encouraging words.
Going naked in public, or at a beach, or even just alone in the wilds, is one of the most emancipating experiences you can have. It does deliver a 'rush' as some people mention, it is a deeply sensual experience, there is 'sexuality' to it [although it is not PC to concede this as we still live in an epoch where sensuality is somehow 'evil'], and there is also a sense of closeness to nature and a more profound sense of Being in the world than you ever experience in the repressive normative world of textile morality. Go for it! You won't regret it. Everyone should.
Dragon, The French beaches are lovely, but if you are delaying your nudist experience because you need to save money for some glamorous resort far across the sea, you would be making a serious mistake. The midwestern US states have many modestly-priced campgrounds and parks, some rustic, some a little more well-appointed where friendly people could help guide you in your first steps toward family-friendly nude outdoor living. If you want to travel beyond the midwest, there are many places you could work in some nude time. Several western states have clothing-optional hot springs. There is a clothing optional farm in Wisconsin that invites people to stay for a weekend and help them with garden chores while working nude if they so desire. AANR lists nudist resorts throughout the US and Canada. There are nude beaches in New Jersey, Florida, and California as well as spots elsewhere that people tend to go nude. There is a beach on a river in Wisconsin for instance, that has a long-standing tradition of nude use. Hippie Hollow is a county park in Texas that allows adults to swim nude. (ignorance made the law stipulate "adult-only". Children need this experience more than adults do) Many people enjoy pitching tents well off-trail in national forests and spending time nude. There are remote sandbars along the Atlantic and Gulf coast where people enjoy nude picnics. If you have your own boat and can reach such an island, why on earth would you wear clothes? If you do go to France, may I suggest that you try someplace other than Cap d'Adge? It is the most famous nude venue, but it has recently been overrun with a bad element that detracts from the experience. There are many other places with more modern buildings, prettier scenery and more wholesome family activities. LaJenny, and others on the Atlantic beaches and interior: http://nakedplaces.net/france_2.html The South of France has other places, too: http://www.midi-france.info/list_naturist.htm Many people find the beaches in Croatia just as charming and more affordable than France: Croatia Naturist Beaches
I was apprehensive at first but after nude hiking for 4 years now I get outside and look for opportunities to shed the clothes! It feels great natural and above all FREE!
