I used to think joints were a waste of weed, because i could get high at least 10 times with the same amount of weed used in a joint. And it seems like a lot of it is wasted, but today i had my first joint in about... 8 or so months, and whoa... I don't know why, maybe because i take more hits with a joint, but it gets me way higher... Usually my highs only last around 2 hours, and only the first hour is really good for the most part... But i just smoked that joint at 3pm, now it's 10:30pm and i still feel really high... *EDIT* used the same weed that i always use in it too.
Depends how good the joint is rolled man. For me, when I roll, I can only roll one side of the joint perfect, the other side, is wide open, so it ends up being a cone shaped joint, and I have to stick a filter in. Doesn't really get me baked, where as a professional one, will send me to the moon.
Approximately 10 percent to 20 percent of the THC is transferred into the body when smoking a joint where as about 40 percent to 50 percent of the THC is transferred into the body when using a pipe.
dude i like spliffs the best. maybe becuz they're closer to blunts, but it beats smoking out of a bong all the time.
I don't think those numbers are far fetched, Joker. At least with a pipe it will go out between hits. Joints don't always do that, so a lot is lost to combustion that no one is inhaling. Makes sense. Chicka-don't filter! Filters ruin weed!
Cutting retort. ^ I seem to think that I get higher from joints. It's probably due to the process, rather than the delivery vehicle. When I'm smoking a joint, I can kind of gauge, on the fly, or perhaps more accurately, "on the draw", how much I'm getting, and take as big a hit as I can handle. With a pipe, or a bong, I tend to be more economical, measuring just a specific amount into the bowl, usually just enough, and not too much. I usually only smoke at night, before bed, so I don't need more than a hit or two, or three, or four,,lol. But recently I've been trying something new with my bubbler. Instead of burning the whole bowl in one hit, I've been trying to just light the edge of the bowl, enough to start a little cherry, and let it migrate at it's own pace across the bowl, so that it's not all "burning" in one hit, but some of it comes up the intake as vapor, instead of all smoke. It seems that that way, I can taste it better, especially on the first hit. The flavor of the weed really comes out, rather than just the smoke. Plus, I get four hits from one bowl, instead of just one. I should buy a vaporizer, but I'm cash strapped at the moment. But yeah, I do miss smoking joints. Maybe I'll go ahead and roll another one sometime soon. It's the only way I ever get really "toasted". Damn, I miss those blonde balls of hash we used to get back in the 60's. I heard that they would send young Moroccan ladies running through the fields around harvest time, and then massage their young, nubile, hash-laden bodies, until the hash balls rolled off on the table. MMmmm,, :daisy: Nice work, if you can get it.
Why do my joints give off so much smoke? They aren't even burning to quickly or anything, they simply just give off a lot of smoke. And it's bad because there's so much that it gets in my eyes when I go to take a hit, and makes my face smell like weed lol. Not to mention my hands from holding it.
That could be happening for a bunch of different reasons (type of papers, dryness of weed, how tight it's rolled). I don't really smoke joints that often, but when I do I get nice and stoned... Just like usual... But with a joint.
I have a question, with joints or blunts, I don't feel like I'm getting an efficient pull/hit at all. With a piece, no problem, it's designed for 1 serving @ a time. With a joint/blunt/papers, though, how are you supposed to do it? A small draw of air, separate blunt from mouth a bit, then suck in the excess? Can someone actually explain this to me? I hate sharing papers with friends and feeling like I'm wasting my turn and their weed.
I always thought the opposite. Of course if a person is used to smoking joints and not used to smoke bongs or waterpipes etc. it's easy to let some weed getting wasted when they try that out some time as well. If you know how to smoke it you probably don't waste much weed in a bong at all but I prefer joints anyday. Perhaps also partially because I agree mostly with this too: I can chill with them but I can chill even better with a joint.
Just make sure it hits your lungs. Not too much air with the inhaling. I would not recommend smoking a whole joint with short drags but as long as you inhale well you could do it if you dislike big hits for some reason.
started smoking joints more often lately, been rolling without filters for the last few days as well. I usually smoke them over 2 sessions and then save the roaches to throw in a pipe once I get a few of them.
It may be less economical, but it's the whole ritual and experience. Good for philosophical conversations and such. Or sunsets. Or walks. Or drives INTO the sunset. Or any time you might need to eat your pot.
I generally prefer my wooden pipe, but when you leave the house with your herb you need to be able to dispose of it in a hurry.
I've started smoking joints a lot more recently too, i used to always when i first started smoking and knew nothing about weed, but thats only because i had a friend that would just roll joints and give them to me but ever since i started buying on my own i haven't used joints since until recently. I never cough when smoking weed unless its with a joint, dunno why. I can take a huge hit on a bong and not even cough a bit, i'll feel a tickle in my throat at the most. But after a few hits on a joint i'll be coughing more than a new smoker maybe it's just something in the paper, i dunno
