If you're caught illegally in Mexico, you go to jail for up to two years (you do go to jail) and pay several thousand pesos in fines. If you're caught illegally in the United States, you're given free health care, free school, and have Carlos Santana say "shame on you for enforcing your meany laws." Jailed in Mexico? "Prison conditions in Mexico can be extremely poor. In many facilities food is insufficient in both quantity and quality, and prisoners must pay for adequate nutrition from their own funds. Many Mexican prisons provide poor medical care, and prisoners with urgent medical conditions may receive only a minimum of attention. U.S. citizens who are incarcerated in Mexico are sometimes forced to pay hundreds and even thousands of dollars in “protection money” to fellow prisoners. Since the beginning of 2002, the deaths of 36 U.S. citizens in Mexican prisons have been reported, including at least seven apparent homicides." Apparently the ICE jails here are quite nice. Air conditioning and TV. Not that I particularly object to Mexicans being here, but I find it rich that they are upset we don't let anyone waltz over the border, when they themselves are far more tyrannical with people who sneak into Mexico.
Some US citizens live in Mexico legally because it's less expensive to live there. If you have the money it's not difficult to live there legally, provided you're not running from the law.
You don't have to sneak into Mexico, you can just walk across without getting stopped, but if you stay there indefinitely without applying for residency you can get into trouble.
Okay... maybe I needed to add the [/sarcasm] tag... I know this, you know this, but the OP want's to sneak in for some reason.
