I have a friend who is terrified of moths. There was one flying about in the sun-room one day and he panicked and went backward through the patio door screen to get away from it. Thankfully the screen was all he went through.

I was working on a job in Tucson Arizona a few years ago.

I opened a door to a mechanical room at dawn and got a face full of the biggest friggn moth I've ever seen, and it was flapping all around my head. I thought it was a bat at first because it was black.

It was the size of my hand.

I'm glad I didn't swing at it and hurt it. It just wanted out.

In the fall those fuckers are everywhere; small ones though.

Occasionally during the summer I might see one of those pterodactyl size moths but those sightings are rare.

I miss Cicadas when living in South Dakota I would hear them most the summer.
But here in Colorado the sound is a rare occurrence.
