for the past 5 years or so i have been planning to one day leave and live alone in the woods. I already know i have the knowlege to do so, and the strength of will. I am currently learning more and more every day. The primitive living skills i have learned are basically the skills of aboriginal cultures such as the Native americans. I have learned almost all that i need to leave on my journey. Once i feel that i have learned flintnapping, tracking, bow making and primitive leather working i will be truly finished with my training, I am already well on my way. I have almost all of the supplies that i need to go on such a trek but i have been hesitant. I am not sure how long i could go without human contact. I an not an extroverted person in most of my life and would far rather be left alone, but i dont know about doing it for years on end. I am starting to be accepting of the idea of letting others come along. As of right now i am planning to leave in about 5 years time.

If there are any people who are truly interested in such a thing, (completley interested, not in a novelty way). I would love to hear from you. Keep in mind that this will not be a vegan or vegitarian commune, as you probably know most primitive food gathering skills have mostly to do with hunting. There will be crops grown and naturally growing plants eaten as part of the diet but most nutrition will probably contain at least some meat. Meat killed, prepared, and skinned by members of the community, that includes you.

I would definitley love to have people who are knowlegable but i do belive that i can teach those who do not already have primitive skills. I also want to make it clear that I am only looking to have about 15 to 30 people to be a part of this project.

The other problem of this community is location, i am not sure where to locate such a camp. If you have an interest in this community or have an idea for a location please let me know.

Where are you at? Me and My family have started a pioneer way of life. One foot in society and one out. It has been kinda rough lately, no money to bank on.it is very rewarding though. I have been butchering 4 deer recently. I just now got back with my son from gathering firewood. One day we plan to go completely off grid, just need a piece of land. My construction background will help immensly. last night me and My wife ground about 6lbs of deer burger.with and oldtimey hand grinder. I can truly appreciate the skills you were talking about.I am 1/4 cherokee and 1/4 fillipino, so this is like getting back to my roots.I wish you luck my friend, btw check out bowery.com on making bow, I am working on one Myself. yo do you all understand this part: IN ABOUT 5 YEARS TIME, and besides if you are gonna live in the woods w/ nothing, why do you have to have 5 years to do so? wtf man.

Do you know enough about plants for medicine to cure ailments? That would be a big help when "Shit Happens". What about dental issues? Some plants can numb a tooth or help with infection, but they won't help fixing teeth.
What thought's do you have about dealing with that?
