Ambient trance - never hear much people talking about, everytime my family hear me listning to it there like what the hell is that lol I love this kind of music and dont need drugs to enjoy it though is defo great on drugs too. So how many of you folk that listen to it, listen to it daily, would you have it on your mp3 player etc Im not aware as to how many people listen to it here but im guessing its higher than the norm considering the nature of the site. Ive got to admit id only ever heard this kinda stuff once before i was interested in it when i was having a reiki session lol Meybe its just the social awareness of the genre idk meybe i just haven met the like minded people yet but i defo think more people should here this stuff, if i had found out about this earlier defo woulda been digging it. Anyway dont know what the aim of this thread was lol it was gonna be something great but lost it hahaha check it out though youtube it whatever https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rhXFVs9tV3A"]YouTube- Aes Dana - Iris Rotation

hey marble that was awrite that, kudos for your FF9 avatar aswell btw lol, thought the beet in that one was a bit repetative tbh but will check out more of them
yes i love chill electronic tunes. Not sure about ambient trance, but i kind of gravitate towards ambient/idm/downtempo. pretty much everyone just creates a name for it, i think of it as something very organic and electronic. very lush, and easy on the ears, but still easy to rage to. i like welder a lot. his album "vines and stream" is so good ive probably listened to it a hundred times now.. some other good ones are nalepa, landau, mr projectile (the album - sinking...whew! its a good one... floaty and dreamy for sure..) and DERU... deru is awesome : ) one of the more unique producers for sure... 2562 puts out some good ambent dubstep that you might be interested in. very easy on the ears : )
It was quite popular on the one teen forum I was a member of. Especially among the intelligent arrogant elitist kids. Not saying you are one, that's just the group that seemed to like it most on there. Chris, I like the song you posted a lot (haven't checked the others yet) =D
Bluetech is a notable name in this type of music https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AI3FD65sctk"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AI3FD65sctk
This whole genre amazes me. The first time I heard this music in an altered state (at a forest gathering) I turned to my friend and said something like, "These people really do know what they're doing - this is truly psychedelic." I said pretty much the same thing this past Saturday night, dancing under the sky, my soul rising. It's just incredible to me that this is happening. Aes Dana, Solar Fields, Vibrasphere - far, far out. This piece somehow captures it so perfectly for me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zbr5l__Mfj4&list=PL131A0018F606608D&index=5&feature=plpp_video"]Aes Dana - Summerlands - YouTube
I think part of the reason why people don't seem to know about ambient trance and genres like it are because the sub-genres of electronica are so poorly defined and are often misunderstood. Just my two cents.
That, or they aren't even aware that what they're listening to is an entire genre. I didn't know until i found this forum.

I have a soft spot for it. Im usually a techo or house snob. But there are times when nothing is better than some very chill trance.
I'm still trying to get a sense of what separates ambient from electronica. Both genres seem to be sufficiently vague as to interchangeable with each other. Like "boards of canada" for instance.. are they ambient, or electronica?
