Hello all! My name is Nicole. My boyfriend and I are looking to join a commune. Personally the struggles with trying to fit into the mainstream mold of what society says I need to do (work excessively at a job you don't believe in, save money, cut throats, buy a house, stuff your spirit and smother it until it dies, make money) is truly unbearable. I wake up every day to live a life that feels wrong. Would like to be a part of something greater and more rewarding. I have gardening skills, cooking skills, good with children too, and am an artist and a recreational musician as is my boyfriend. We have been together for a long time now and he has a peaceful loving spirit. I am willing to contribute anything besides money because I don't have any and money makes me quite sick inside. Sounds lonely asking only one person come. Not my need for community. And Serenuty Oaks looks beautiful, wish I was there right now with the weather warm and Oaks blooming. Finding a gentler community is something I looked for all my life since 16. Wish you well. :sunny: I personally have seen both tremendous conflicts and isolation/rejection/disassociation on communes, but Ive only seen about 10 out of the thousands that exist. You think like I do so wellwishes in finding home. Changing the name from commune to Intentional Community set me back. Wish ppl could stick with one name.
