Just thought this was a little strange and funny.

So I went into a BP a few days ago to buy a lighter. Unfortunately enough, the police chief of the town owns the place. And he happened to be in there when I walked in.

I went in to find a fat guy with a SWAT team shirt on, who constantly stared at the pot leaf button on my shirt when I came inside. I simply asked him for a lighter, and oddly enough, the only ones he had left were ones with shrooms on them.

So he refused to sell it to me. He literally took about 10-15 minutes, with customers behind me, to go way in the back and grab an average bic lighter that hasn't even come out of the shipping box yet. I still said no, I wanted the shroom one. In an angry manner, he slams the bic lighter on the counter and says ''$1.69''. I walk out laughing my ass off, but as picky as I am, still wanting the shroom one.

Does anyone else think this is weird? Or even considered bad customer service? I'm never going back to that fucking place again, let alone spending my money to support a cop.

Fuck him.

 

Haha, how can he refuse to sell a certain item to you? Pretty sure that's illegal unless you're underage, you'd think a cop would know that...

Shortly after I had staged a 'protest' by smoking a joint in the local town park years back, I pulled into a local gas station...

The owner, used to be a cop, he crashed three cruisers in two years, was put on a desk job, got fat and quit to buy the gas station.

He opened my car door and started ranting on about me DARING to do that in HIS town...

I told him to let go of my door and back the fuck up or I would defend my property. He did, and I stepped out and I ranted at him... About how I grew up in the fucking town, and it was my town, and how DARE HE think he can talk to ME that way.

I finished off by telling him to go shove his business up his fat ass...

To the best of my knowledge, no stoner I hung around with in the town ever went back to his business.

 

Yeah, and his one and only job at that moment was to be a good employee and SERVE me. Apparently he fails at his job.

 

You must live in a pretty small town if the police chief has to sustain himself by running a BP.

You have your own cop shop at all, *that's* impressive. My little town doesn't even have that, we rely on the county (and pay a lot for that too). lol

Yeah, the cop was being a dick, but most businesses reserve the right to deny service to people for various reasons. I agree with your decision to just not shop there again. For all he knew you could have been buying mushrooms one cuz it makes you think of your favorite food, or that you really enjoy Mario Bro's. lol

Regarding the lighter situation, that is just shenanigans!!!! I cant believe that, I would of loved to bust out the song... Fuck the Police - NWA his face woulda probably turned red

 

Well still, when I'm giving my money to a business, even of it's a small amount of money, I expect customer satisfaction. If I have the will to go in to YOUR business and give you the money that I earned to support you putting food on the table, I still want what I paid for and asked for. That's just good, equal business. If he, as a cop, has a problem with selling a lighter with a picture of mushrooms on it, then that's his personal conflict to overcome. I AM over 18, if he can sell me a blunt wrap or a pack of cigarettes then he shouldn't be telling me what I can or can't buy just because he doesn't agree with it. That's just how I see it, anyways.

And I know, regardless of being a psychedelics user, I do think mushrooms are good for decoration of any sort. Maybe I just wanted some plain, simple fungi on my lighter. I just think it's pathetic.

 

I do agree with you, that he was being a dick. It is none of his business if you choose to buy a mushroom printed lighter, rastafarian printed lighter, a zippo, Snickers bar, or whatever else. Would he deny an obese man a bag of Dorito's and only let him buy sunflower seeds?
