Well, I didn't really used to like it much. I still don't. However, I recorded some stuff using a Radio Shack keyboard, a Fender Telecaster, a delay pedal and a 4-track back in 1998 just as an experiment, really, when trying to learn how to record multiple tracks. I was basically trying to play as if it was a real band all jamming together rather than make electronic music. I never really liked these recordings much back then because it's not what I was shooting for. At best, I thought of them as "demos" and, actually, there wasn't a lot I liked about them because I wanted to write verse-chorus-verse type songs... but, I was alone in my living room... and I did the best I could with what I had. I mean, I was into experimental music like early Butthole Surfers and stuff, but mostly with live people playing instruments. I kinda had a thing against drum machine sounds back then. So, I tried to get this piece of shit keyboard to sound as organic as possible.

Anyway, a couple years ago, I started hearing all these underground, lofi "hipster" bands that were really cashing in on 80's synth sounds. Bands like Com Truise, Washed Out, TOBACCO, Neon Indian's first album, Ariel Pink, etc... and I really came to like all of these bands. ALOT, actually.

The more I listened to these new bands, the more I noticed bits and pieces that sounded like stuff I'd recorded back in 97 and 98. This prompted me to dig out my old tapes, record them into my computer and put them on bandcamp. I just put the 4th one up today and it is definitely cheapo electronic psychedelia: http://lifeisstrange.bandcamp.com/album/spring-fever-dream

Agree with this 100%. I can't get into Spongle, Infected Mushroom and stuff like that. However, I do dig some Ozric Tentacles. They have quite a bit of electronic stuff happening on a lot of their albums. Also, the album I just linked above definitely has that dreamy, whimsical sort of vibe. It's just 25 minutes and it's free if you want it to be, so I hope some of you people will go and grab it. It's even got a psychedlic title and cover art. :daisy:

I agree, they are the masters of live electronic mixing! A definite journey seeing them live. They had a unique ability to play the songs I know but mix them in a way such that it was like I had never heard them before.

MIxing electronica doesn't make GOOD psychedelic music because what you need is SOUL....and that is exactly what CRAPPY bands like Chemical Bros di NOT have....SOUL:):):)!!!

I'll pass on the music of topic. I like guitars and drums and keyboards played by humans.
