I have a thought.

 

pepsi is a brand of cola. so is coke, or coca-cola.

coke is also short for cocaine, a drug commonly sold in 3.5 gram increments, also called an eight-ball (eighth of an ounce), or ball for short.

the OP made a play on words by saying a ball of pepsi, instead of a ball of coke.

for instance

it could have been a different variation of cocaine.

it could have actually been bad coke (pepsi i < coca cola)

i pride myself on not knowing.

but it's just a personal preference.

From years of working in jobs where I seemed to work best on a caffeine boost, I found cherry pepsi to do the job best. Mountain Dew claims to have the most caffeine,,but for some reason it just didn't give me the same buzz.

 

Are drinking it or snorting it?
To get the most out of Mountain Dew it has to be snorted then chased with a hit or two of Vernor's Ginger Ale to really bring out the euphoric side of the Dew.
