Alright so, im seeing right now on CNN, and watcvhin how much bull*** theyre telllin people. Manuel Zelaya, our president was captured by the military, since he was asking the people if they wanted a 4th (poll?) to be reelected. His friends, Hugo Chavez from Venezuela and others, probably want to apply their stupid socialism here, and people dont seem to understand this and still go after his side, since he has been working on fooling people. Poor people have even been paid to be Zelaya's followers. Unluckily, i guess you all know how stupid politics work in the world, and, well, tune in to CNN and watch for yourself what they are saying. Please tell me what you think.

CNN and TELESUR (Chavez's channel) are spreadin false news. Theyre saying that the military were acting violently against a pacific manifestation (which in fact wasnt pacific.) It really is a war of powers. All presidents of the ALBA (Bolivian Alternative for America) are against the president that was set instead of Manuel Zelaya. His name is Roberto Micheletti. Of course, this is because they are all riding the same train. Something's cooking here. We people in Honduras don“t want Zelaya back. It's just the people who were paid that want him back. In fact, rumours have been spread that they were not paid yet, and that's why they want him back.

why doesn't someone from Honduras tell the rest of us what is going on there. why would the military depose a democratically elected president? was it just because he was trying to get a chance to be reelected? what is wrong with Zelaya jmt?

Chavez's policies seem to be working. I wouldn't mind paying just a few cents for a gallon of gas. It's easy to see why politicians like these are so popular in the region. Obama was probably right to side with the ex pres. as he was democratically elected.

i don't see a problem with any presidents visiting other countries but since Zelaya isn't in power, it's a moot point.

What's the big deal about Chavez or Castro for that matter?

I'm interested in this situation. There's 2 sides to every story, and I always try to see both perspectives.

Do you think the coup was justified?

HIS friends with chavez and castro.

chavez on the sunday of his "coup" send to honduras 5 million already copied false votes so that they could throw out the original one and use the fake ones but the General of the Army who was fired once by Mel found this palne coming from Venezuela and saw how Mel was going to cheat so on that sunday morning they broke in to his house and dropped him off in Costa Rica. Well about the General being fired by Mel was because Mal knew the he was danger to his elections so he fired him but then the Government was like he done nothingn wrong so they brought him back.

    now mels in nicaragua.

the people whos on Mels side is with him because if Mel doesnt get back in charge then they dont get the money they are getting from MEl.

That's all very interesting. I don't dispute your point of view. But to the outside world, it will still look like a coup. As opposed to say the people rising up to overthrow the guy, it was forces within the military. I don't like the idea of rewriting the constitution, but that does happen sometimes. Ideally there should be some legal means of removing a rogue president without resorting to military force.

I generally think communism has historically been a terrible system, but if it's the democratic choice of the people, maybe it's best to let them have their way and see how it works out for them. I know it's not as simple as that, but in theory I think you should let people choose for better or worse. If you believe in democracy, you have to accept the tyranny of the majority that comes with it.

We have a form of socialism here in many European countries, and it's not a perfect system either but it's what people want. You want a free society, but you also want a society that functions on a social level. Capitalism with a safety net. Doesn't always work out that way, but it's not the same as communism which entails far more bureaucratic central planning in all areas of life.

I hope the situation in Honduras stabilises and the military are true to their word about holding free elections and things can return to normal. And I hope the people choose a responsible government. :cheers2:

Sorry for not replying back before, but i forgot to subscribe to this post. LOL.:D Its been a long time now, and Mel returned. However he's been held as a refugee in the Brazilian embassy. At first things went a little out of control when he came back. Supermarkets were assaulted, windows of McDonalds and other businesses were busted out. People were going crazy, they wanted Mel back. Rumors say that they were being paid to work on Mel's side. Apparently, as in everywhere, the media also only worked against their side, which is called "La Resistencia". There seemed to be some violence on both sides, however. At our level of poverty, you can buy people to vote for you by just giving them food, paying them more than what they make for a day to go out and throw rocks at the cops.I actually don't believe in any of this crap. It's just insane how many people can die only for the greed of a stupid man (Mel Zelaya) who wants to come back to power, when his time was almost over (about 4 months were left). Politics are so stupid. It's so fuckin distorted, cause the candidates for presidency are two stupid fucks that won't do shit for our country, just like the past elections when we got Mel Zelaya into Power. If you don't vote, they steal steal your vote, whoever can find the way to get it. Politicians are corrupt mothafuckers, sick to the head. There's nowhere to go. How can this be what people want, if we only get two candidates (major political parties). I don't think I'll play their game in this elections. Even if they steal my vote. Go ahead, sick-for-money bastards. I just hope all this shit going on in the world gets fixed soon.

USA television networks think that beyond Florida is the edge of the world and it drops off into the void of outer space.
CNN International is about the only place I can consistently get news from beyond the wall of indifference.
