I was about to jump in and say my peice before for the fear mongers got here but I'm too late.

You don't have any privacy right now. If you think you do, it is an illusion. These glasses change little, except making it more obvious.

I read a fun article about William Gibson trying out the google glasses. He was suitably intrigued.

meh, I've always somewhat admired Google's innovations.... Steve Jobs was a genius, sad he died. I'm by no means a techie but my husband is and I can be in awe of the advances of technology..... or to put it simply, "hey, neat!"

Steve Jobs was a businessman. And had little to do with Google.

My comment is why do they get to dictate how we progress. Who are they to tell us that we have to adapt.

I don't like the idea that if I'm on the tube and some clown with google glass takes a fancy to me he can snap my picture and put it on his blooming facebook. And once they start they'll only do worse over time

I think they are going to be a massive failure.

It can't be good for the eyes.

I think I might start a theory that they emit radiation that burns tiny holes in your retina.

I'm curious as to what you're doing on TV, but I'm afraid cameras have been around a long time. These glasses aren't changing anything in regards to someone taking your picture.

Rolling and Oden make good points. But this is just first generation!!

While I'm not excited about this Google glass, I'm excited about how it's going to evolve.

    I have a better idea.
Start a rumour that google glass is really the government's way of cataloging everyone that owns a gun. Then watch the NRA destroy Google inside of an hour.

Say “take a picture” to take a picture.

    http://www.google.com/glass/start/what-it-does/

It could be a nod or a wink in the future. Atleast with a camera or a camera phone you can generally tell if somebody raises their arm and puts an object ththeir eye or points something at you.

I'd rather do what ever they can do - with a mobile phone or tablet.

I think the design is a bit of a compromise. I think they didn't want people to be walking around with normal spectacles on. So wanted to remove as much as possible. I can see that carrying around a camera that can take POV footage is very appealing (I imagine the porn industry will have a feild day). But, it just does not look like something vast swathes of people are going to be comfortable with.
