I was watching The Fly this evening, and when I got to the part in the movie where Brundle mentioned that he used a method of having five set's of exactly the same clothes, so he doesn't need to waste thought into deciding what he wear's everyday. What would you wear for five day's a week? Something plain? Or creative? Maybe something casual? Formal? I recon it's a pretty good strategy... it’s less expensive, and would make laundry a helluva lot easier. I already tend to wear the same jean's for a few day's before I get off my ass to wash them. Same with singlet's. But that's not exactly applying the "seth brundle" wardrobe into my everyday life... it's more or less me just procrastinating and living a cbf attitude to attire. But if you did decide to do something like this (or do, perhap's you already do) what would/do you wear?
I pretty much have that already...tshirt and baggy or ripped jeans everyday. The tshirts vary in colour, but it's easy and modest and I don't tend to worry about it.
I think you can credit Einstein with this idea first, not Seth Brundle. At one point in my life, I mostly wore Dickies with either a t-shirt or a long-sleeved thermal/t-shirt combo. One less thing to think about and the few seconds it saved me meant more time to...nope, I wasted that time, too. Good idea though. These days I'm all corporate and sold out, so I have to plan what I'm going to wear, up to and including a tie :ack2: sometimes! I still keep it mostly neutral colors, so I can mix and match easily.
I would probably go with a pair of olive green chinos/khakis, a white button down short sleeve shirt, and an olive green v-neck sweater on top which can be removed in warmer weather to just have to white button down and olive pants. And I would have a plain white crew-neck undershirt and a pair of brown argyle socks.
I actually own 2-3 pairs of the same exact pants.. they were just cheap and comfortable I'd be perfectly fine with wearing a black t-shirt and a pair of comfy pants every day
i only own 4 pairs of pants, so yeah. two pair of jeans (one blue, one black), one black flannel type and one tighter dressier looking black stretch pants. shirts, I think I rotate 7 different ones
It is basically a work uniform, and I do have that in the sense that I have two pairs of trousers and three shirts for work. Day to day? I am looking into capsules. I'm bummed when I get greens that don't work together, or clashing tones.
yeah, having five sets of the same outgits will be oK to save time when make a decision on which clothes should be worn. however on the other hand, you keep your appearance always the same. don't you think it is a little boring? life needs fresh air sometimes.
when I find clothes that I like and they fit good I stock up...even if theyre the same color I dont care I have all kinds of multiples
In my work life I was fortunate (for the most part) to work places that did not have a dress code. My normal summer wear is jeans and a t-shirt and in cooler weather it is jeans and a turtle neck. I have pretty much looked the same every day for the last few decades. I do make jewelry so that changes from day to day or not. My main goal in dressing is to be comfortable. I tend to wear a lot of black or dark muted colors.
no no, i don't like clothes or shoes are the same. 7 shows in one week is a must for me. if i like something, i just pick one of them(though there are many colors to choose). that may depend on people, u know.
"Maybe there is more to life than clothes" So, the thought of boring applies if the person is clothes oriented. If not, a set of the same things is a convenience. I like having a smaller selection, but the ability to be creative when I'm caring.
I'm not "clothes oriented" by any means, but to me if a person wears the exact same thing everyday (outside of uniforms) I see a lack of creativity. Deffinately boring. I don't like boring.
A lot of creative people wear similar clothes all the time. Their creativity lays somewhere other than their wardrobe...
^ you're right. Wasn't the best way to put it. But I think most of you will get the gist of what I mean.
I can't go for same outfits for long. It will be little boring. But in order to save time and money I will prefer wearing jeans and T-shirts because we can wear jeans regular without wash.
