I've had two surgeries, one 4 yrs ago and one yesterday where I was prescribed pain meds. Both times was APAP, first time Vicodin and now lortabs (7.5 mg). Having been a counselor in a methadone clinic for the past year, I've heard lots of stories about Oxys. Clients usually say they started with Lortabs and moved up to Oxys. Usually 30s I think. So I know they are stronger than Lortabs. Obv I'm on the Lortabs right now. Supposed to take one 7.5 every 3 to 4 hours. Not having any tolerance I get a nice little euphoria from them (stress on the "little"). 45 minutes ago I bumped it to 1.5 pills and can feel a little more. It's nice. I wonder though why I didn't get an oxy scrip. Is that just my doctor? Is it because it was relatively minor surgery? Mostly I'm curious how many Lortab 7.5s would equal one Oxy 30 in strength? Cool forum.
7.5mg of hydrocodone equates to 5mg oxycodone. You would need 45mg of lortab to equal 30mg of oxycodone.
APAP is just tylenol, I think you are looking for a comparison between hydrocodone vs. Oxycodone both of which have preparations in which APAP is present. I took Percocet before which is a oxycodone and APAP combination and I found that very inefficient, I felt the 3 pills of vicodin I was taking was more efficient than the 1 percocet I tried. Oxycontin however was extremely powerful when I tried it, I only used it recreationally though, but it's probably up to your doctor's discretion on what to provide you with.
Thanks guys. Wow I can't imagine taking six of these lortabs (and I won't) but at least now I know just how far in the minor leagues my current experience is, esp b/c of how common I've heard it is for ppl to take 3 oxy 30s. Jeez. No wonder ppl get withdrawals.
Yeah. I've been using opiates for 5 years now and still get sick if I take more than 20mg of oxy in any form. And I can take 4 Vic10s at a time. Dunno how some people ramp up so fast.
