Thank you for your correspondence expressing your opposition to Assembly Bill (AB) 2552, authored by Assemblymember Torres and relating to driving under the influence.

AB 2552 would make it a crime, and establish a rebuttable presumption, if someone is found to have cannabinoids or synthetic cannabinoids compound in his or her system while driving a vehicle.

The measure is currently in the Assembly Committee on Public Safety awaiting a hearing. Unfortunately, I am not a member of the Assembly Public Safety Committee however, if AB 2552 comes before me for a vote on the Assembly Floor, I will be sure to take your thoughtful comments into consideration.
