“Government exists to protect us from each other. Where government has gone beyond its limits is in deciding to protect us from ourselves” - Ronald Reagan Stop California's Unscientific and Unnecessary Drugged Driving Law Take Action: AB 2552 Is Bad Science and Bad Law I urge you to reject Assembly Bill 2552. From the Office of Assemblymember Bill Monning Thank you for your correspondence expressing your opposition to Assembly Bill (AB) 2552, authored by Assemblymember Torres and relating to driving under the influence. AB 2552 would make it a crime, and establish a rebuttable presumption, if someone is found to have cannabinoids or synthetic cannabinoids compound in his or her system while driving a vehicle. The measure is currently in the Assembly Committee on Public Safety awaiting a hearing. Unfortunately, I am not a member of the Assembly Public Safety Committee however, if AB 2552 comes before me for a vote on the Assembly Floor, I will be sure to take your thoughtful comments into consideration. Again, thank you for contacting me about your opposition to AB 2552. I look forward to hearing from you in the future regarding other issues. Sincerely, WILLIAM W. Just as G. Gordon Liddy went into high-tech corporate security after his disgrace, Carlton Turner became a rich man in what has now become a huge growth industry: urine-testing.
