i know 60s were the time of hippies, but i always liked 80s more (myby cuz my parents told me that 80s was just a big partey haha) ....... but u know what; the 60's are gone, the drug will never be as cheap, sex never as free, and rock and roll never as great. amen
This current decade will probably be one of the best so far. Technology is starting to enhance us socially (such as Project Glass: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9c6W4CCU9M4"]Project Glass: One day... - YouTube) and within ten years, culture will have undergone a paragon shift. 2011-2021 will be as different as 1961-1971 was.
i'm currently enjoying my 20s. if i make it to my 80s, i'll certainly do my best to have a good time with that as well.
The 80s were a foul decade. I know because my siblings are still stuck in the 80s. Stuck in the 80s like they still watch Top Gun at least once a year and worship Ronald Reagan. Nothing good came out of the 80s except saturday morning cartoons. edit: and teen movies.
the 80s ended the 70s, and that was not good. all they gave us was this computer and the internet. i'm not bitching about that. but the 60s and 70s were giving us everything. giving is the wrong work. people were making it happen. but what people willingly went to jail to change in the 60s became established in the 70s. which was great until raygun came along and convinced everyone that little green pieces of paper were more important. the 60s weren't about sex, drugs and rock and roll. that was media hype to discredit the moral high ground, and to sell the corporate mafia. the 60s were about civil rights and pacifism. they were about something called the club of rome project. they were about futurism and social responsibility. they were about youth having a demographic advantage, and what a relatively young population were able to accomplish with that advantage. the 70s were about environmental consciousness, and a blossoming in the arts and sciences. they were about not limiting perceptions and points of view to what was familiar. and that is what lead, drove, and fueled that blossoming. the 80s were about the corporate mafia making up for the 60s and 70s not giving them as big a slice of the pie, and they wanted the whole pie and still do. the 90s were all about try, but not hard enough, and failing, to win back a little piece of what the 80s had stolen. the 2000's were about starting wars as a smoke screen for organized corporate crime to entrench itself into dictatorial control of the most powerful nation on the planet, and by so doing, the entire planet. the story isn't over though. it never is. there is no more easy forever for the harmful then there is for the good.
