It's an old movie about the black Plague by Igman Burgon, or Burguin, or something in that matter. Meh. In any case, has anyone seen it? It's soooo good....
Amazing film. One of the most powerful films ever made. Bergmans script is like poetry. Every sentence seems to have a deep meaning. My favorite Bergman film is Hour of the wolf, followed by this. The criterion collection dvd of this film looks great.
I know. The DVD is great because I can FINALY watch the movie with the original Swedish audio. God, the americanized version sucked everything that was once good out of the original...
oh man, i know exactly what youre talking about, though I couldnt even get past 15 minutes of the copy i first rented. the quality was terrible and so was the dubbing as usual. Ive only seen the entire film from the dvd.
I agree with you guys. Though The Seventh Seal is not my favorite Bergman, it is certainly among his best. (It is interesting, Nightwanderer, that your favorite Bergman is Hour of the Wolf. For a while, that was my favorite of his too. I would only watch it at 2:30 in the morning every week. Wow, what an experience.) Ah, but I digress... I haven't seen many posts about Ingmar Bergman around here. It's a shame, too, because he was one of the best (he didn't die, just retired making films with Sarabande in 2003.) I've collected all of his films on DVD, most of which have been released by Criterion, the leading DVD producer of classic films. I believe this is the perfect time to discuss Bergman's films, most prominately The Seventh Seal (because this is the film that was brought up first.) Peace
