I went barefoot hiking for 3 days straight now soles are black. I must of washed my feet 6 times today and they are still dirty. I have a yoga class tomorrow and at the end of the class my yoga teacher gives you a light foot massage, grabs your ankles and pulls you to stretch your back. I don't want her see my dirty soles. And suggestions?
Try taking a pumice stone to your soles, that help smooth away the rough dirty areas of your feet. BTW, I love it when a woman touches my feet too!
My soles are never really clean, except when I walk long distances in the rain. I use a brush on my soles every time I shower, but even that can take a week to get the grass stains off after I mow the lawn. I'm not sure a serious barefooter can expect to have soles as clean as shod people. But at least my dirt has been washed and is clean dirt. And with that dirt comes better health, IMO. Since I have been fulltime barefooting, I seldom get colds anymore, and I used to get them every 2 or 3 months. The yoga teacher could never be a romantic interest for me, unless she were willing to put up with my perma-dirt.
I use a nailbrush and regular soap. I can scrub pretty hard especially on the sole but also along the side of the foot, it's not too harsh, and in 16 years of full-time barefooting (both city and natural environments), I've never had any problem getting my feet clean except for the rare spot of tree resin or tar.
My feet are always a little 'dirty' looking, even when squeaky clean. It is b/c of the calluses. I don't want to scrub them off, I worked hard for them!:sunny:
