I have ordered a quantity of mescaline sulfate, to take with me to the wilderness camp where I will be spending my summer.

Since I am going to be in a very rustic camp, out in nature, I will not have access to a scale once I go.

With 2c-e I have had success with dissolution in 80proof alcohol, for liquid dosing. Would the same work for mescaline? If I can measure and dissolve it before I leave, then I would only need a good measuring spoon to dose accurately once I am out in the wild.

Does mescaline sulfate dissolve in alcohol? Will it degrade? Will it keep for several months in this state?

I am pretty sure mescaline sulfate would dissolve in 80 proof alcohol. As it is the salt of an acid rather than freebase you probably won't have problems dissolving it.

It shouldn't degrade much either, because alcohol doesn't really contain chlorine and other contaminants that tap water might, but I would try to keep it in the salt state for as long as possible as compounds are generally more stable as salts. It would most likely keep for several months with little degradation of potency however.

i'm gonna go with what he said :)

although 80 proof alcohol might still have chlorine in it. the other 60% is water from somewhere. not sure if chlorine is damaging to mescaline though, if it is, it's not as bad as LSD. i might suggest using 100 proof or something stronger if you can.

Is there any reason you can't just weigh out however you'd like before you go, and avoid the concerns you have all together?
    Just a thought...

    Distilled water contains no chlorine..

If there was chlorine in the water, when making alcohol @ the booze plant, it would react explosively..

come on guys, thats easy chemistry there.

and I always considered you to be the smart one.. ;)
anyways., here's a few links with extractions using chloroform
    http://search.aol.com/aol/search?q=mescaline+extraction+chloroform&s_it=spelling&v_t=firefox-search

I would give this a go, but chloroform is to expensive to use. Alcohol seems to be a ok substitute ..

I would try drip funnel separator..

    http://www.erowid.org/archive/rhodium/chemistry/dichloromescaline.html
    another using Dichloromethane

    It would seem
that the chlorine molecule is harmless to Mescaline anyways. dont quote me on that.
