Tee, Hee. Try and fix it all, of course. But get out there and live life to the fullest. Oh, BTW, we still have the "Eat, Drink, and be merry" original Hippie, 350,000 nuclear missiles, as well. Least we not forget. OH JOY!
Couldnt have said it better buddy! No there isnt.... USING NUCLEAR IS AN EASY WAY OUT!!!!! (It shouldnt ever be used)
After seeing the total inability of a high-tech wealthy nation to stop the ongoing radiation from that melted reactor core, it has shown me that nuclear power is not worth the risk. We need to focus on installing renewable energy NOW so that we won't have a shortage and be scrambling to keep people from freezing to death some winter night in the future.
I'm not worried about fusion so much as the black hole. It's the only one that I'd actually consider useful. Dark matter and dark energy should really just be studied enough for us to be able to contain it. As far as Japan, they had samurai, so...
oh yeah, but this news is a bit one sided.. Japan hasn't any other minerals and fossil fuel to produce electricity, plus alternative energy sources are not that developed yet, last summer's power-saving setsuden failed, so this summer it's probable that there will be power shortage...
and why do they do it? because the people who oppose it are the same people who wont pay higher taxes for the more expensive alternatives
looking up Goober., I took a glance at Jim Nabors. He stared in a show called Lost Saucer. One the episodes there is a dog on a treadmill. And they said they didnt want to get arrested for having an illegal energy source.. dog on a treadmill.
sorry, but these really aren't valid criticisms. if you knew more about physics, I don't think you would say such things.
I didn't know that these were criticisms. They're facts. I am simply attempting to show that we have far worst things to look forward to beyond nuclear power. "if you knew more about physics, I don't think you would say such things." Yes, but I do know more about physics. May I point out to you that a great many theoretical physicists have extremely varied opinions. I happen to be one who sides with a minority. And, so then, which do you consider inaccurate? Black Holes or anti-matter? Did you know that when we first started to product nuclear reactors, we believed that the fuel would last forever? Never needing any replacement. And this is what they sold to the public. Did you know that before the first nuclear detonation, many physicists believed that the chain reaction would go on infinitely, and destroy everything in existence? Facts are facts, and theories are theories. Also hypotheses are… —Well you get the idea. Nice talking with you.
I don't mean to be rude, but I think that you're the victim of irrational fears. I've actually spoken to physicists about the "black hole" issue. What they say is that while the energy densities at colliders can be quite high, similar energy densities are very common throughout the universe, and they don't generate black holes. As far as anti-matter goes, it's nothing new. Anti-matter has been generated in experiments for a while now. Only tiny amounts of anti-matter are generated in experiments, and it doesn't last very long. Anti-matter is also generated naturally, according to this wikipedia article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antimatter
A nice presentation. Well done. "…but I think that…" I am very glad that you think that. I'm a victim. I have fears. They are irrational. May I suggest that you take a debate class. You'll never win over anyone by starting out like that. Anyhow, I am a theoretical physicist. As I have said. I and others hold different opinions. That is why it is referred to as theoretical.
ive seen black holes it was called the oprah show it spawned all kinds of other intergalactic anomalies like dr phil and dr oz and dr drew we need to stop this from ever happening again
I don't EVER want to hear you chide Anyone about being OFF TOPIC ever again. You have just achieved Zero credibility on ANYTHING EVER in the future. Congrats. And this is really hard to achieve. LOL (A JOKE)
"I've actually spoken to physicists about the "black hole" issue. What they say is that while the energy densities at colliders can be quite high, similar energy densities are very common throughout the universe, and they don't generate black holes." So, exactly what is the threshhold of energy density for creating a black hold? Can you tell us. Rhetorical Question. No one knows that. However, Humans are building ever larger and even larger linear accelerators. You make the point that, "…while the energy densities at colliders can be quite high…" I'm making the point that we are intentionally trying to make the densities even higher. Assuming that we can go high enough, we might just succeed. Voilá. A black hole. I view that as rational and not as irrational. I have no fear of this, simply because you wouldn't know what hit you if it did happen. VAP! So, I don't dwell on it. Just like thousands of nuclear missiles, any of these other things don't just go away, just because I don't fear or dwell on them.
That's not for me to judge. We'll leave MODs to appraise themselves. He knows (can tell) that it's a joke. :2thumbsup: Note: Lost Saucer is not quit on topic either.
