    singer/drummer for 'the band'

    levon helm passed away today at the age of 71

    i saw this man many times ....his music made me happy

    may he jam in heaven with the others

    i am saddened that no one else realizes who this was...really saddened....didnt anyone see the last waltz

    oddly enough, i had spent a couple days learning to play the weight on my guitar...not sure why i picked that song.....i hadnt even touched my guitar in several months...but for some reason was drawn to that particular song..i learned it, played it for my 8 yr old daughter as she fell asleep that night...then turned on my computer and learned that he had passed....

    I was fortunate enough to see the surviving members of The Band back in the mid 80s. They opened up for CSN and while CSN was great, The Band proved to be too hard an act to follow and CSN was blown away by The Bands performance. One of my top 5 concert experiences.:)

    miss him already. I walked by a bar that was playing Cripple Creek and it made me a little sad

    I know it was.I ment his death threw me for a loop.I thought we'd have at least afew more years with him.:sunny:
