Can I stick all my newly grown mushrooms into a tupperware/jar and stick them in a pot and steam them to get all of the contaminates off?
if you have decent fruits, chances are you have very little contaminates .... your way, sounds like a good way to destory any active psychedic compounds in the shrooms. But if thats what you want to do. go ahead.
mushrooms will still flush from a contaminated substrate. I think the op picked some fruits from an infected cake/tray. better safe than sorry. just make tea and heat the water to 160F no higher.
That is a surefire way to turn your mushrooms into a gooey mushy mess. Dry them properly and stop being such a wuss.
Don't eat contaminated mushrooms. Would you eat them if they were regular Agaricus mushrooms and were rotten? Of course not.
If they have been contaminated, then they have been compromised....throw them away. Work better to sterilize your setup, and get rid of any contaminations immediately. I only rinse fresh shrooms with water gently and then dry. Or eat
No, steaming only would kill a portion of contaminates on the surface of the mushroom. To fully kill most/all contaminates, you would need to pressure cook the mushrooms. But that would be wasted energy as described in the posts above.
if you're that worried about the shit you grow maybe you should stick to buying them from people and having no clue where or how they were grown
