Sleepy Sun and The Black Angels!

Who else loves them and any similar bands you'd like to recommend??

I'm not really into this specific psychedelic sound but if you like them you perhaps dig bands like Dead Meadow, Brian Jonestown massacre, Assemble Head in Sunburst Sound, Black Mountain, etc.

I dig BJM's sound....pity the singer is a snobbish shithead.....he has nothing to do with psychedelia

 

I actually came across sleepy sun and the black angels while browsing psychedelic rock on youtube. Downloaded their albums and had a blast listening to them! There's nothing quite like slow, desert/psych rock that hits the spot!

 

Damn, have you listened to some stoner rock stuff then? You'd love that as well probably. Check out Brant Bjork for instance (played in Kyuss), really slow and chill stuff.

If you're into that style of rock music too, do you know Scott Wino Weinreich? He's this 51 year old stoner rock god, been in bands such as The Obsessed, Saint Vitus, Spirit Caravan, Place of Skulls and his latest band Premonition 13!

Enjoy... I got to admit, this guy is my guitar hero. Got to meet him twice in the last year, that pretty much changed my life from then on

 

Yes I especially dig Spirit Caravan and reallignment/higher power is one of my fav tracks of mine from them as well!

I also dig the doom metal and doom/stoner genres but never really got into most stuff of Saint Vitus.

 

You're the first person I know who knows of Spirit Caravan! maaan hell yeah!
Higher Power is a great track, shame it doesn't last longer though, I could use an extra 5 minutes on that e-bow intro and a few more also on that guitar solo towards the end. But hey, can't complain!

Yes, I was really into that kind of psych/stoner rock for a while and when I found out there were more bands like that I did an extensive discovery session Since I'm in Europe I already got acquainted with the likes of Orange Sunshine, Siena root, Samsara blues experiment etc. Seen most of them live too. Do you know the Roadburn festival?

 

I do know Roadburn! Don't know Orange Sunshine and Siena Root though, I'll make sure to check them out when I get home tomorrow

I can't wait to drop acid to these 2 bands! :2thumbsup: next time you attend a festival such as roadburn or something, let me know man, we could have a few beers and even smoke a few joints while enjoying some good rock music!
