I have a recurring dream about a faceless man walking after me. No matter how fast I run he is always there behind me walking. I'm scared of him in my dream simply because he is always there. He wears a black or dark brown trench coat and has a hat with a slim brim. I'm always in the same location when I see him too though I don't know how I came to be there. Its a multi story building and every door that I go through takes me back to where I was. I wake up feeling uncomfortable in my own skin.
freaky , i know many people that have seen a man in a black trench with long legs n a hat while sleeping .. even i .. but only as kids .. i know a mother who saw this spirit touch her daughter as a baby ..haha .. every one knows the man with long legs !
that sounds really scary. don't know what to say, but I hope that you that there is positive resolution
Dream figures are symbolic representations of something else, some deep-seated fear. Right? There isn't any "faceless man" in real life, just in your dream. Having a face just means having an identity. This one has no identity, therefore he must represent something you fear,,,,,faceless men, for example. Me, I'm afraid of faceless dogs with trenchcoats and hip waders. It's not uncommon, in the movies, to have threatening people following behind the "disposable" characters, at a steady walking pace, while the about-to-be-murdered character is running as fast as they can to get away, but still making no headway in his/her efforts to avoid the pursuer. You should stop watching movies like that, and change your television habits as well. Sesame Street is your only option.
The thing is I've seen this question asked several times over the last 10-15 years in forums and chat rooms. Common denominator is that hat, that's why I posted the photo. It's possible that it's the same "guy" occurring in different people's dreams, which I find odd. I've never seen a movie with this character, and don't tend to watch that kind of movie anyways. Never the less, I've seen him and others have seen him in dreams as well.
fuck man i shouldnt be reading this shit before bed .... ahhh well i hope that Archangel Michael protects u all !!!!
The hat he wears is rounded like a ball on the top. I've been having this same dream ever since I was about 10 years old. Off and on throughout my life since then. I have even spoken to a counselor about it and she had no advice to offer other than "don't watch scary movies" ... I don't watch scary movies. I dunno. I do think its interesting though. I just really hate the way it makes me feel when I wake up. Maybe I just bring it back by thinking about it.
That would be a Bowler style hat then... (lower left) Probably not the same guy... I know it may seem like I'm obsessing about hats, but the guy I've had to deal with always had the tophat and it was very much part of his character... He usually didn't have the trench coat either but has on occasion been known to wear one. Different character, probably just as scary... The Long legged guy sounds like "Slender Man".
Your dream reminds me of the numerous "fighting the monster" dreams I have seen examples of here and on other forums. My interpretation of these are usually that the "monster"/"dragon"/"powerful enemy" represents the deeper urges/desires/fears of the dreamers personality that needs to be kept in place by the conscious mind. One interesting point about your "monster" is that he might be a full contrast to how you view yourself. You attempt to flee from him in your dream, something that keeps you from moving from one place to another. Awake you may be kept from going anywhere with your life before you manage to turn around and face this demon. It may be you need to express what you feel (the feelings could be angry or in other ways "forbidden"), but are limited by your own ideas about how one should behave, or you may be scared of the part of your emotional side that he represents. Unknown characters of the opposite gender in dreams are to the Jungian school of thought the Animus (male side of a woman), and the facelessness seems to underline him being part of yourself. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anima_and_animus
What? This guy? Must of picked up a hat recently. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bn59FJ4HrmU"]Entry #1 - YouTube
He is "Slender Man", a tall man without a face. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxCVvI7kgR0&feature=relmfu"]Entry #29 - YouTube
Okay.... I didn't catch that in the first video because of the angle of the shot. Seeing the second one I see it, but these look awfully setup and faked to me. Guy says it's a security cam and it's obviously a handheld...
