One of my favourite bands, bu their last CD titled "The Cure" didn't please me as much as their other cd's.... I liked their older style. Not so heavy..... comments?
what's your tastes? my tastes are: smooth music(enya, secret garden, that type of music) brazilian music(Astrud Gilberto and Vinicius de Moraes are my favourites) some soundtracks green day and the cure
i love the cure! god, why are you people so mean? saying stuff like "they're shitty", please! peace nad love? where is in in your messages? huh?all people do on here is be mean, so it seems. i cant believe this. oh, and i love the song "boys don't cry" , like everyone else does
I love the cure. My favorite is Head on the door, but that was the album I got introduced to on. I listened to disintegration most of all, but all are good, IMHO
I really wanted to hate the cure. They sounded like such a pussy band. I tried so hard, but they just rock my world. They're fucking awesome.
I love The Cure, they're one of my favourite bands. My favourite albums are Seventeen Seconds and Pornography. Such great albums!!
They were the second band I ever saw in concert (Barenaked Ladies was the first, in case anyone was wondering). I really like all of their old stuff, but I haven't heard their most recent albums. I heard a lot of criticism towards them when Wild Mood Swings came out, but I liked it.
Hell yes. The cure are one of the greatest bands ever. they have a certain mood to them that no other band could ever compare.
i am obsessed with the cure and robert smith! not to brag but my user name on here was a take on the cure and their single "cut here." "cut here" is a basically the word "cure" with the word "the" in the middle... i guess you can say. CUtheRE <==see it? anyway sopposedly the song "cut here" was a song about ian curtis (frontman for the band Joy Division), who i idolize as well along side robert smith. but to get back on to the subject, the cure is my favorite band. each individual album is different to me and each hold a special meaning. im not saying they're a great band technically but they are a band that i hold personally close to my heart. so in that way they are just in every definition "great" to me. so yes i am very into the cure. but i will say that the latest release really wasn't up to par.
Robert Smith and the Cure are Kings of Psychedelia. Man I love the Glove too. Blue Sunshine and All that. And Siouxsie and The Banshees. But yeah A forrest, real creepy that! and 10 15 saturday night. Just like Syd Barrett Really. Hanging Gardens and Caterpillar. Just demented, and when those lads are in the cupboard playing with puppets as it fills up with water. The cure are great. But The Teardrop Explodes are better!
I used to think they sounded so lame when I was younger (and exclusively listened to Guns 'n Roses, Nirvana and stuff), but I guess I've gotten a little older and nowadays I think their songwriting is (was) world class.
Nope. I think that about covers it. Such a great song. I remember listening to Carnage Visors during my first acid trip. It was nice and creepy to listen to. And it went on forever! Well, 25 minutes, but that's an eternity for one's first trip. Ahh, memories....
so world class means shitty now? They suck it's just so pop-py and annoying. I find it funny that you mentioned Guns N Roses and Nirvana then called The Cure's songwriting good. The music and lyrics of GNR and Nirvana are so much more meaningful than The Cure's. That is some extreme fuckin' irony. I think they're just a bunch of over-rated freaks like many pop bands of the 80s. I don't know who mentioned this earlier but, don't worry I'll hate them for you.
duck, you have opinions and I will not say they are invalid, so instead, I will just say you are full of shit.
