the bible says various things, i don't claim to know all of them because i've only read a small percentage of the bible myself. anyway, i think it depends on which denomination you are whether you have to accept jesus, or be good, or whatever else is decided gets you in

All I am saying here is "don't believe anything, entertain possibilities". Do your own research. Be empowered. Don't blindly accept anything just because an "authority" says it is so.

I have been studying the major philosophies on this planet for over 30 yrs. I have researched how the Bible was rewritten over and over again for the current "Powers that Be's" agendas. Like, who the hell was King James, why did he rewrite it and how did his version of the Bible differ from the Sinai Bible? What was Origen's agenda, why were his writings expunged. The Gospel of Thomas is loaded with Jesus quotes, the Gnostics use it but it is not recognized by the mainstream.

And researching this is not easy - if you want to read the original texts you have to know Latin or Greek or find someone who doesn't have a hidden agenda and does an accurate translation - not easy to find.

It is a fascinating evolution of a belief system shrouded in mystery to be sure. I would love to see some of those ancient texts burned by the Roman Church. I bet they were juicy!

At risk for conituing this thread, I'd like to add my two cents. I was raised Roman Catholic. For all intents and purposes I still call myself Catholic. However, I am not a sheep. I do have a mind and I don't believe something just because someone tells me too. I do believe everyone gay and straight will be accepted into heaven, nirvanna, whatever you want to call it. I don't believe in hell and the devil is a very powerfull thought form that exists because the believers make him so.

but if u believe there is a heaven there must be an opposite, a yin for the yang, there must be balance. my beliefs are similar to yours, i attend church but i dont believe it all, i sorta have my own beliefs, buti do think u hafta believe in god and not get by with just being a good person

Honestly, if there is a hell, I think it is here and we are all in it now.

There is only Mind and everything is a reflection. Assume a point of view and then experience that point of view. We all do it all the time. Sounds simple but yet is very complex. When you begin to see the Paradox, you begin to see the Truth. All truths are true. Everyone's point of view is valid in the eye of creation.

When contemplating yin/yang, it helps to focus on the line in between, the zero rest point, the unpolarized Center.

    That's ridiculous. xD T

here's no reason to assume this is hell, I mean, looking back at history, we're doing better than ever. When you look at a worlwide perspective, ofcourse.

People should stop thinking this world is óh so bad, cause this generation is probably better off then the one before. And this will continue, we'll only keep improving as a whole.

people are dying for the stupidest reasons around the earth RIGHT NOW, we as americans have it all because most of us dont have to worry bout starvation, disease, or getting shot at by some terrorist. the chance of that shit happening to us is so small and yet people still get fuckin scared like it will happen any second. you got to look at the world around you. dang, again there is another closed minded mother fucker here... what a shame. WHAT A SHAME. yea we are improving and doing better but only in technology and science. we are still the most fucked up beings on this earth. c'mon compared to any other animal, we cause destruction on a colossal scale!and at the same time Earth is getting worse and worse because of us humans. cars, machines, power plants, sewage, all that shit is making the world dirtier and dirtier. think about the future. It's they way of the Future. the way of the future. the way of the future. the way of the future.

The future is beautiful because people are beautiful, are waking up and coming together! As much as there is fucked up shit happening on the planet (the Fall of the Roman Empire) there is also awesome shit happening on the planet as well. Because what we put our attention and focus on is what we are adding energy to and helping to create, it's really important for those of us who are already awake to choose the reality that serves the greater good and stick to that focus no matter what. A real good exercise in mind control.

As we define reality, we then see the mirror. I see miraculous, wonderful things happening everyday. People I never would have thought to be awake saying incredible deep things to me. It's working!

you should go read qoran and islamic texts. then you would start thinking that christianity is too meek and tolerant.

Hating people makes you hateful, I prefer even a confused sinful christian to a self declared evil man.

To the original poster. I was raised in a christian family, and although I have many regrets to the way I was raised, I'm learning to live with myself.
One thing I can tell you is that from my experience (or perspective), the christian faith is not based on shunning or discluding people due to things like homosexuality, etc., although I'm sure there are people in the church who do have a tendency to be outwardly rude in that sense due to something going on in their own lives. I can't stand my parents lives sometimes either, but I still believe in God and Jesus and Satan and heaven and angels.
But yeah, if you can't stand them, it's not your fault. People on earth just have a tendency to shoot first and ask questions later.

I can have no problems with christains until they open their mouths about god. The crazy thing is I love this girl who's a southern bapitist and she definitely likes me. We once got into an arguement about religion and vegetarianism. So we just agreed to not talk about those things anymore.

I used to be a Christian in my childhood up to high school, but then I realized I didn't agree with its core teachings, so I took a step back from organized religion. The church I used to go to preached dumb shit sometimes. "if u feel like u wanna have sex with ur girlfriend, then that is a lie from the pit of hell" dude wtf. I'm agnostic I don't know what I believe in, if I believe in anything.

Honestly I don't hate Christians. I only hate the ones who are bigots. I've met some Christians who are nice and I don't even mind hanging out with them. I just wish more ppl would stop trying to shove religion down people's throats. I mean..religion is like a penis, if you have one you can be proud of it, but u dont need to shove it down other ppls throats
