does this tat look infected? I can't tell but my sister is kinda freaked out about it. Her ankle is also pretty swollen which I don't know if it could be from her walking around in flip flops all day, I'm a little nervous for her. :s

It might be a bit, but it's probably no big deal, just like a normal cut might get infected. Tell her to keep it clean and maybe put some savlon anti septic on it and it will be fine

My first tattoo took 6 months to heal in spots because I got deep sores in it. They were so deep that all the ink is gone in those spots. I think I was allergic to the color maybe. I put Neosporin-type ointment on it and later heard that is the worst for tattoos...I don't know...

If it's brand new some redness is normal. If it persists and especally if you see red lines extending from them see a doc.

your tattoo guy looks like a digger. My arm got red and a little bruised from my tattoo guy pushing the needle to hard into my skin. Put some A&D stuff on it if you haven't already and soon you should start putting lotion on it. The tattoo itself looks really good! Enjoy it!

thanks :) she ended up going to the doctor and getting some antibiotics and the swelling in her leg is pretty much gone it is still a little red but her last tattoo scabbed pretty bad and took a little longer to heal so I'm thinking that much of it is normal.
