Hi! I'm really bored with my current hairstyle, which I've had for about 3 years..I want to get bangs, but I don't know if they would look good on me. I have long oval face, kind of big nose and I wear semi-rimless glasses. My hair is naturally straight, thin, doesn't get very wavy. I look like this with glasses: http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/picture.php?albumid=10266&pictureid=81047 http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/picture.php?albumid=10266&pictureid=81048 without glasses: http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/picture.php?albumid=10266&pictureid=81049 I've read that bangs look good on people with long faces, but i'm still scared it will turn out bad some of my friends told me I would look great with bangs but it takes ages to grow them out...but I also want a new look. As for the style I want: I have very long hair now, down to my waist but the ends are damaged, so I want to shorten them a bit, but not much. And I'd like to get blunt or slightly wispy bangs with long hair. like these: http://www.hairstyletop100.com/wp-content/uploads/Bella_Thorne-hairstyle.jpg http://tx2pdx.files.wordpress.com/2012/01/leighton.jpg http://www2.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Felicity+Jones+BAFTA+Los+Angeles+18th+Annual+3oy-92vpxVql.jpg http://www.mynewhair.info/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/05irinalazareanu.jpg http://swedishconnection.files.wordpress.com/2012/01/109-zooey-deschanel.jpg Some help would be appreciated
First my sister, than my manager, and now you want bangs?!??!?!?! jk I say go for them if you want em
haha sry well that's the problem, that I don't know if I want them or not. One moment I'm all like yess! im gonna do it! Then the next moment I chicken out...
well, I guess life is long, hair grows, so there's nothing wrong with trying it. I never had bangs, except when I was maybe 5, so I don't know
i'm in favor of bangs ! =) When i had mine cut for the first time i was afraid it would look terrible and then it'd take ages to grow out, like u said. But that's a myth : 10 days later u have to cut them again, they grow really fast. Besides, if u're not too sure, u can always get "long" bangs, that way the change isn't too brutal. there's one great thing about bangs, as opposed to long random hair : bangs make u look like u have a sophisticated haircut, with zero hairdo effort. proof. me without bangs : ^ normal hair. and with bangs : ^ actual hairdo, even if those pics were taken while i was on holiday by the sea, after a walk on the very windy beach. another plus side is that when your bangs grow (after 10-15 days like i said), u can push them on the side and it still looks acceptable : About the glasses, well i don't wear them but if i did i'd go for thicker frames to go with the bangs, kinda like Kate Moss here : Hope that helped ! =)
your face shape is very similar to mine, i also have a long face . most of my life i had bangs (like in first 3 of your pictures of bangs) because they looked great on me, i guess they are going to look great on you too. i am growing them out now because i need a change... and they do grow slowly.. that's the only problem with them. but they will probably suit you
Crayola: thanks! your bangs look stylish my hair doesn't grow very fast.. but I guess I'll have to trim bangs every 3-4 weeks. plus styling needs high maintenance, but whatever yes, I also like the better hairdo options. well, I think thin framed glasses are good with this hairstyle. I don't like thick framed glasses very much, and with bangs it would be a bit um overcrowded pipgirl: thanks! that gives me hope i have more confidence now (maybe) it seems like we're switching hairstyles
I like your hair the way it is. Its up to u alll the way. What about gettign layers in your hair thats what i want to do cause i cant have bags. Ive tried so many hairstyles.
I like especially 'messy' hairdo's too but too be honest I rarely do something special with my long hair. I blame it especially on my hair itself though. It's too light, I would have to use some conditioning stuff (have no clue I know) to make it stay in such a way.
mm, yeah but hairsprays and such get sticky and ugly in the end, so i wouldn't use it either. Long hair allows u to have so many different styles... Like, "messy" braids, buns, etc. :2thumbsup:
Not for me when I go outside and it's windy. I rather just let it hang loose or pull it in a ponytail Of course I'm a man and avoid all these hairsprays instinctively
