I like feeding the birdies but the feeder is over a rock garden and the birds fling seeds to the ground which germinate giveng the rock garden an ugly appearance.

what can I use to keep the seed from germinating? Google search says to microwave the seed for 5 minutes, another said to use vinegar.

what about after the seed germinates, what can I use to kill the weed and not harm the birds?

Dont fuck up those bird seeds.
What is the problem about pulling out some plants on a very little (!) surface from time to time? You wouldnt believe what surfaces a single human being is able to free from plants. Its just amazing lol.

Or, just look up what kind of plants they are and what biologic stuff they dont like and add this to the soil there- 5 minutes of research and work and youll be happy:)

it wasn't some, it was around 100 plants in about a 5ft x 10 ft area, the birds are really messy eaters. LOL

I hope there are other solutions than nuking the seed

No multiple posts, please. Let's keep this contained to the one you started in the gardening forum.

    Thanks.
