I just wanted to create a thread where everyone could throw in their favourite acid induced moments. These can be things you experience every time you drop, or they can be very special moments you remember from a trip. These are the highlights. For example, My favourite moment is the one when my senses don't detect enough evidence to prove that I am not floating in space. The lights I may be playing with being stars and planets. This happens so I jump to the conclusion that I am in fact weightless in space. :sunny:
Wow, i didn't experience anything as intense as that yet, have to dose higher. My fav moment is when tripping in nature, it looked like a painting.
Good idea for a thread... One reason I enjoy the "midrange" of psyches is what you eluded to. Being able to play with your senses to create a different perception of being. I don't find that as easy to do at threshold, and, what i missed at very high levels. (not that those levels don't have their own lessons) A "game" I like is to change the observer effect. So, like your example called on not enough evidence to validate a sense, I do a thing like, what if my eyesight is completely invalid? Or hearing? It really plays to our sense of perception and how it relies on the 5 senses and makes us more empathetic with people actually missing a sense. So, if my "sense" of electromagnetic waves (light, radio, etc) is not to be trusted through my eyes, then I'm left to sense my environment through other vibrational senses. Close your eyes for a good long time on your next trip and chew on that for a bit...
My favorite consistent effect of LSD is the heavy trailing effects. They seem to not come out right at onset but when I do get this effect, I usually feel as if I've arrived and it's going to be a good trip. This trailing effect often has a deeper association with it too, so like I've seen a group of turkey's run together leaving trails and it was as if I could sense how actually synchronized their movements were with one another. I've seen a horses and squirell contrast in their movement in the same way, made me ponder how each animal moves specifically tailored to its makeup. I recall moving my hands and arms and watching them trail like Hendrix's bold as love cover and pondering the energy and strength or lackthereof to move my hands and arms in various ways. In conjunction with music, the trailing effects seem to sync in various ways and occasionally help me perceive the music in new ways or pickup on nuanced sounds that I've glossed over when sober. I get a perception of a slower decay of various notes or they stir stronger emotions within me. I don't necessarily get heavy trails when I play music but as I mentioned heavy trail trips often indicates its going to be a good, strong trip for me and while playing sometime after on a trailing trip, I noticed my hands seemed to tend to 'naturally' gravitate towards notes I don't frequently jam on.
Oh, my favorite one was seeing the matrix code in everything; (years prior to the movie) furniture and walls included. Numbers and letters in different colors. I even started to write em down but the numbers and letters never stayed in one place. Must have been a code rewriting itself all the time
In my early experiences I took 4 hits and later that night I was sitting on the edge of an empty pool looking down into it staring at one point "building" my visuals as I have learned to do, they started as just patterns like paisley or fractals and then it all started looking like cogs and I remember thinking I was seeing the inside of the world, the way the world works, the clockwork if you will and now I don't recall what happened next but in the end I felt like I was in a placenta floating over the pool still looking in on the world only the visuals had evolved to resemble a futuristic city (most like in star wars ep 1 when jar jar binx takes the Jedi to his underwater city) time stood still and then as soon as I moved at all I was back on the edge of the pool again.
I don't get strong visuals usually, but one time I was sitting barefoot in my front yard, and a car slowly hummed and drove by the street. I knew it was coming because I heard it and saw the headlights traveling horizontally across my vision. For some reason this car brought a fractal explosion of purple, pink, violet, some black, etc. cathedral colors behind it, that filled my vision in front of me for a couple seconds. Even the tall trees were slowly covered in this energy of color. Then my vision returned to normal.
I saw music once... a long time ago. Looked like "heat wave" distortions coming out of this guy's doorway. I was sitting on the porch next door... The guy was blasting some old Black Sabbath. :2thumbsup: Not necessarily my favorite tripping moment but it was memorable... I'll get to my favorite later in this thread.
My first time dropping acid was at my first music fest. Bought 2 hits of incredibly potent blotter and was unprepared for everything that happened but it was Epic nonetheless! Anyway the morning after the main trip we were coming down and feeling great, bought another hit of the stuff n popped it right away. Thirty minutes later I walk out into a field as the sun is rising and look at a 2 story farmhouse a football field away and it's a living cartoon. The garage door was a big smiling mouth going up and down/opening closing repeatedly, the 2nd story windows were big bulging cartoon eyes and the blinds were going up and down too like eyelids. I literally dropped to the ground and died laughing.
I live in the mountains so there are waterfalls, rivers, intense trails, huge boulders, forests, etc in every direction. Theres one particular spot which used to be a dam, but is now just a big wall that cuts through the river. There are several holes in the dam which create waterfalls down into a big swimming hole and a ton of car sized rocks on either side. You can climb up on the dam and jump off in the swimming hole, and theres even a diving board a little higher up (probably 35 feet) for the more danger seeking folk. This is one of my favorite places to trip. I can seriously spend all day laying out here, having a few beers and soaking up my surroundings. I went out here last week and it was a perfect summer day. sunny, 80 degrees, just a few clouds. Couldnt get over how connected i felt and it was amazing just to be there. I was laying out on one of the big rocks for hours, watching the sky go nuts for a bit....then looking up, watching the flow of the water and the wind moving the trees. a few times some kayakers came through the holes in the dam (probably have a circumference of about 5 feet) and plunged straight down into the swimming hole, popping up after a few seconds. Always a therapeutic experience
I like it when all lights around me (artificial lights and the stars) start pulsating in a rhythmic pattern. When they start to pulsate to the beat of the music thats when i really start to loose it!
So far it would have to be the first time I dropped. I was at a festival, and my friend and I munched a sugar cube each, and then roughly 6 hours or so later we bought another 3 tabs and munched 1 and a half each. Already been blasted for wasting acid, but nevertheless it was still an awesome intro to lucy. Anyway, the best visual was when we were chilling in the tent just before sunrise. The clouds were just insanely magnificently beautiful, and they kinda started to unravel from the sky. They were biiig long streaky ones, but then as the sun came up we decided to stand up and check it out because there were tents in the way. When we did it was just unreal. We just got blasted with fractal patterns made out of the insanely colourfully bright glare of the sun - looking out across the ocean of tents that stretched off into the distance, even though it wasn't a huge festival it just seemed like they went on mile and miles. But yeah, then the most intense emotions I've ever felt was later that same day after munching another half tab that another friend had given me for my birthday(yeah yeah, wasted I know ). We were lying around in this tent smoking some shisha listening to this band with a male vocalist who had the purest falsetto that could ever ever ever have been heard.. and it was like being bitch slapped upside the head with 200tons of love. I started to feel that I was just gonna burst into tears. I fought it for a while with the occasional tear dribbling out, but then it just overpowered me. It kept feeding on itself because it was so apparent that this guy was so passionate about what he was singing, and it was the most beautiful thing that I've ever heard - and it kept getting more and more intense because I loved the fact that he was loving his work so much, and loving that it sounded so unbelievably perfect, and that the crowd were just loving it.. it was as if everyone's happiness was just being funnelled into me 3 fold, on top of my own.. and it just got so intense that I couldn't take it any more, and I made a feeble attempt at crawling out of the tent to try and get away from it.. and luckily(or unluckily I s'pose..) I managed to. But that was probably my best ever moment under the influence of psychedelics so far.. pure love.
I always like the part in the trip where all the things you were expecting come up, like shapes shifting and geometrics and sounds and colors and all that. Your laughing and giggling having a great time, then all off a sudden acid laughs with you, but its a different kind of laugh, you turn your head for one second, you feel a push, and all of sudden your ten miles down the rabbit hole with no rope up. Basically what I'm saying is that you get slapped in the face with the full experience, then its no more laughing. You see the true form, and everything that you expected was merely a tiny drop in the ocean. You realize you are so far away from just colors and sounds its not even funny. A funny memory I have is looking at this little toy, and I thought it was funny because it looked like a coocooclock because of the patterns on it. It looked like it was ticking and I thought, wow its amazing how real this looks. As soon as I thought that it got ten times realer. It was like the cosmos giggled at me. Silly boy, let me show you real! The coocooclock opened up, a little person came out, danced around in real time fluid as life motion, returned back into the clock, did some more shifting, then returned to the normal toy block it was. Oh with a feeling left behind that of course even that too was only the beginning. We always forget, and its always so grand when we remember!!
My best trip so far was on 2 potent hits on the most beautiful lake. I still remember everything. The whole lake was covered in writings, i remember the storm coming from behind the mountains but was still far away, i remember the moon behind me and i remember all the trees dancing in the wind. It was the most magical moment of my life. I could visualise my thoughts, they were like a tree and every new branch represented a new view. I had this alien mind. It's hard to explain xD :sunny:
on my first trip I expereinced my dog moving at x3 speed, just as if I held the ff button down on a remote control. I expereinced this briefly on 2c-e as well.
I took 3 1/2 hits of pure pharmacutical grade once in the early 80's. I was living in the high foothills in New Mexico. After a bit I saw everything as a visual sizzleling, almost electrical energy. Then I could no longer distinguise the trees from the sky, from the ground.I sat on a tree stump in my front yard but kept falling off.I found my self looking into the stars, then falling upward into the universe.I saw the moons, planets, stars as alive.I realized people behave like this,as we move around our circle of friends. Some we gravatate towards or revolve around and back in orbits of each other ,some very long orbits, sometimes magnetically connected, some temporaily eclipsing others, but each affecting all of the others.Almost as if a long slow dance. This seemed to go on for hours. When I realized I was back in my body,my little brown puppy was leaning over me looking into my eyes.I could see the soul of the universe in those eyes.I heard the word "dog" but also the word "God",both as one sound and one word at the same time. They are both man's best friend. The unconditional love of Dog and God with man somewhere in between. It showed me my place in the universe. Pretty trippy huh? lol
Just as I came to those words the music shifted/intensified in a fractal explosion of purple ... Lot of good posts here, building visions, pure love, and so on. I was lying on the mattress on the floor in the dark of night and I saw a dark shining column ascend into heaven (with climbing arms of vines, just like in St. Stephen, though I'd never heard it before) and in that moment I was healed. I think I was pretty broken at the time - then to be healed, lasting the rest of my life. :sunny:
