My name's Rick, I'm a 53 yr old homeless person living in kick-ass gorgeous Santa Barbara California. :sunny:

I hurt my knee not long ago so I decided to spend some time sitting down and I figured it might as well be in front of a computer.

So lets see. . .

I'm a part-time vegetarian

I live in a bamboo hut that I built not far from the ocean

I alternate between riding a bike and a Razor-style kick scooter (mostly the scooter since I hurt my knee).

I make and occasionally sell bamboo smoking pipes

Looking for something meaningful or at least interesting to devote my spare time to.

Am so narcissistic I actually expect strangers to be interested in this crap.

It's really pretty easy: I just make the bowls out of the thicker pieces (about big enough to put your thumb inside) and then drill a hole in the side where one of the nodes is (the woods a little stronger there). Then I cut the stem from smaller pieces and hollow them out with a thin metal bar. Bamboo grows in a lot of different shapes so you can get some pretty cool effects.
Best part is all the materials are free (stuff grows wild all over the place where I am).

Now and then I find some poles thick enough to make bongs out of (haven't started doing that yet but I have a few poles stashed).
