making money at festivals

The first words spoken to me as i arrived at my first Grateful Dead show were "I'll fuck you for a ticket."
I heard that one couple at a phish show made a killing selling bare ass spankings.

 

I traded a joint for two t-shirts once from roadies from a band. If you can get access to the people that work the festivals, they are the ones that need drugs, cigs, etc. the most.

I used that at a fewer of the years earlier spring/summer fests... That was around the time I had retarded amounts of mendo purps and GDP..

I'd just sit at my site when I needed to make money with huge bags of purps and my little propane stove and make grilled cheese sandwiches...2$ a sandwich or buy an eigth get a free grilled cheese. Grilled cheese is a total moneymaker at fests..most people blow all their money on other things and just want cheap yet satisfying stoner food...not to mention food vendors tend to be very over priced. You'd be surprised how much business you get...

Purple headies is a real moneymaker too at shows. Bring a pocket LED flashlight to highlight the quality of the cannabis to potential buyers... In my experience, when people see gorgeously grown and meticulously well maintained purple headies they just can't refuse

 

Thats the whole point of a festival for me to get to know the musicians and others and make musik and fiesta with them at the end which is often better than the festival before :2thumbsup:

 

Learn how to paint Henna tattoos. Can you draw decently? if not, just make stencils or something. I had a guy charge me $20 and all he did was trace a mason jar lid on my back and draw a shitty and hardly recognizable "steal your face" design. Even I can do better than that! I think it was my first festy though. Also, you could learn macrame. I can make a necklace in like 20 minutes now and I made about 20 good looking ones that I'm either going to try to sell or trade this year.

Buy some hemp and wooden beads. You can buy them at Wal mart and its pretty cheap. If you don't know how to make hemp jewlery you can learn how on the internet. Its super easy! And fun

I sell simple twisty bracelets to people for $1. And water bottles, blunts sometimes, stuff like that! And now I work within festivals too, as a part of the stage crew. Ever heard of Chicago peacefest, loveshine, even electric forest ill be working at

 

Lay a hat upside down on the ground and do a mime act. Rembember: only the really consistent ones make good money.

 

you can pretty much do anything. i've sat at fests with a ukulele and a bowl and made an easy $40 for party favors

 

I once knew a guy who would make a ton of money at festivals. He would make a mixture of vodka and kool-aid into a slushy, then seal it in one of those plastic tubes so it looked just like a freeze pop. Sold them for like 5 bucks a piece, people would swarm as soon as he started and clear all of his product within 30 minutes.

I know two 15 year old girls that make more in a few hours selling hemp bracelets to tourists on the beach than a full time carpenter can make in a day.

If you have access to bamboo you can make lots of those in little time and sell them

you dont need to cut the right side end lik in the pic. Just cut with a little saw, ready. Poke a hole in the membrane, ready. Dont take bamboo that is too thin because it cracks when drying. The membrane inside should not be too thin neither, otherwise it burns through too quickly. Fresh bamboo tastes best.

but hell yeah, selling hemp creations is what i do mostly. and embroidery floss creations.

make money before the festival so you can enjoy the festival you don't want to be running around trying to sell people shit they don't want while you're tripping on festival drugs... so just figure out the money thing before the actually event, i say
