why is it you very rarely see black people barefoot,I'm just curious ,out of about 100 people I see barefoot only 1 or 2 are black. I mean I never even see kids barefoot
Going barefoot for these minorities dates back to the period of slavery and also re-enforces an image of poverty, something African Americans have been working diligently to escape.
I agree. 100yrs ago these minorities were forced into 'civilization' which included the Christian missonaries insisting that they were modestly dressed and not in their native ways. Today it's so deeply ingrained into their culture it's pretty hard to subvert.
I'm black and I'm always barefoot. When you people say "These Minorities" you make it sound like we are a different species.
Hey no offence meant friend, I was only trying to reflect and respond to others As it stands I'm a 'minority' too being of Indian hertiage, please accept my apologies if that is of offense to you. Personally I'd rather be a minority than one of the majority :2thumbsup: Love to all Madesh
Ridicule, this is why many of us (I'm a black guy) For some reasons owning and wearing athletic shoes and other shoes made in foreign sweat shops seem to be a symbol of status. It's bad enough when I wear flip flops the call sandals Jesus shoes, but let me encounter a fellow black person whilst barefoot and all kinds of snickering, name calling etc.
i'm black and get the same sort of behavior exibited towards me. when people see me in jeans or cut offs and barefoot you would think i have committed a crime.
