So awhile back I decided to try out some new things, was primarily focusing on the 2C series, but never committed. I'm looking to get back into it. Out of you experienced guys, what would be a good starting off point? I'm looking for something that's easy to handle, yet give me a strong sense of separation and open eye visuals. I was at one time contemplating this seriously but never did it due to funds and an uncertain future. I'm much more secure now. Also, when I place an order from a vendor, how can I possibly know I'm receiving what I purchased? Anyone ever had any problems with that? I read that it can happen on erowid. Thanks in advance
Here is some short blurbs I've made for the 2cx's: 2cb: This is my favorite of the 2cx series. 2cb produces significant color enhancment, a stimulating headspace, a relaxed body and strong euphoria with sensual tactile enhancing qualities. (duration 4-7 hrs) 2cc: The least potent 2cx I've experienced dosage wise. This is a very functional psychedelic, it leaves the mind fairly clear and I really have enjoyed playing guitar on it. It has a slight glow to it reminiscent of MDMA and a sense of contentment but it's not an overly emotional experience. The duration is shorter than most the other 2cx's which makes for a short and sweet psychedelic experience. (duration 3-5 hrs) 2ce: A strong and electric compound. Once this compound gets going it's a barrage on the senses for the remainder of the trip. Significant time dialation, strong visuals, and some occasional contemplative deep thinking. The body load is somewhat strong with this one and the body shakes with jolts of tension released at various parts of the experience. (duration 6-10 hrs) 2ci: Many similarities with 2cb. There is less focus on the visual here and it often makes me feel slightly detached with a stronger analytical and emotional mindtrip. 2ci is more overtly stimulating and can produce some muscle tension. (duration 6-8 hrs) 2cp: A slowly developing, lengthy trip. This trip has a feeling of neutrality to it and there is no particular aspect of it that particularly excels in my experience. The negative effects aren't that bad either but overall it definitely is my least favorite 2cx. (duration 8-12 hrs) 2ct2: One of the heaviest 2cx trips. This one has one of the deepest mindtrips of the series and it has stellar closed eye visuals. There is a heavy bodyload and a good deal of nausea for the majority of the trip. Occasionally it's open eyes are decent but that's not it's strength. I find the first half of the trip fairly neutral, bordering on dark but then the latter half lightens up and produces some euphoria. (duration 5-7 hrs) 2ct7: A lengthy and very complete trip. 2ct7 comes on with an epic feeling of wonder, euphoria and depth. The visuals escalate you up slowly and the color enhancement is among the best of the 2cx series. There is a very strong sense of inner peace a la mescaline also a fair degree of nausea cycling throughout the experience. The Open and closed eye visuals can both get really intricate and it's a trip through and through it's whole 12 hour duration. (duration 12 hrs) 2cb and 2ct7 are explicitly scheduled in the US. I'm not sure what you mean by easy to handle yet strong separation. Most of them are fairly versatile in the sense they produce what Shulgin deemed 'mueseum' level effects at lower doses, like where going out in public wouldn't be much of a hassle but at higher doses most of them are powerful psychedelic trips. I enjoy all of these chems pretty much except for 2cp and I think had I done 2cp when I hadn't explored many of these other 2cx chems I may have enjoyed it more. You can buy testing kits for the chems to make sure what you receive is correct. I've never relied on testing kits for 2cx's and I'm fairly sure I have got all the correct chems I ordered but I often do like a below threshold 1-2 mgs allergy test to make sure I didn't get sent a super potent chem where overdose would be a concern at the dose I plan to take for my psychedelic explorations.
4-HO-MET and 4-ACO-DMT are good starters. Just don't take too much. Buy it from chemical labs. If you see that site looks professional, they have a lot of stuff and they write they are working on synthesis on new ones. It will be bit more expensive, but I guess you can spend few more bucks when it comes to your life.
Cool thanks for the help. I'm having difficulties locating a vendor. In what way is the safest to verify the legitimacy of the vendor I am interested in? Also, do I need to actually contact the sales reps for each company? It seems like they aren't advertising the products I want and I have to personally ask for them.

So SOS is legit again? For a while people were a bit worried. Good to know it survived. To the OP, I have found some legit vendors through SOS, but there was an issue for a while thinking the DEA might have compromised it. I would recommend you start with very small doses just to be sure. In the story above they took a reckless amount of an RC you don't really want. It was found not to be 2c-e but bromo dragonfly. Stay away from that one. 2c-e is safe.
